I'm honestly glad he did. Sucked at the time, but Howell probably doesn't flip from FSU if Shough doesn't flip to Oregon.

Howell is a helluva prospect. I'm no Heels homer. I'll tell you flat out that Dyami Brown is likely a bust. The two RBs will probably be solid pros but I doubt either will be a true impact RB. Dazz Newsome will be a good slot WR/return man. Howell is what makes that offense elite and he's why it'll still be elite next year.

You have it backwards. The elite talent at the skill positions has allowed Sam to shine in a sucky ACC. He just chucks it up as far as he can and let’s Dazz and Dyami make plays against overmatched DBs. Notre Dame had the studs on D to cover them and Sam couldn’t do anything to carry the team.

He played very well against the best D he faced all year in TAMU without Dyami Brown and both RBs. Dyami was a good college deep threat but I'll be surprised if he sticks in the NFL. He's basically a slower Ted Ginn Jr.

I’m thinking JT Daniels is going to move up the draft boards too next year. Howell and Rattler will probably be top of the class. However we are in position to draft one now. We are stuck with Teddy for one more year so we cab sit our rookie and ease him in to being a starter. Trying to bank on a QB in next year’s class just sets us back another year in our rebuild.

Sam Howell just from a playing standpoint...I have no idea about his personality...reminds me of Baker Mayfield. 
 

So ask yourself...if Baker wasn’t a dynamic personality/leader...would his physical talent have made him the #1 QB?
