I am not sure there are many starting QB's left that aren't mobile. Most that aren't are nearing retirement.

What is mobile? I feel like there are more non-mobile qbs in the league then there are mobile qbs. But we may have two different definitions of mobile.

i think sub 4.7 forty is a good starting point.

Elite speed isn't necessary to be mobile. Trevor Lawrence is mobile but he probably won't be running a great 40. Most modern QB's are mobile.

nfc west 2 mobile qbs

nfc east 3 mobile qbs (including dak and hurts)

AFC south 3 mobile qbs

afc north 1 mobile qb 

AFC west 2 mobile qbs

afc east 2 mobile qbs (3 if you count cam (FA))

 

Total mobile qbs: 15(+1)

non mobile qbs: 17 (-1) 

Cam is the difference between it being 50/50 split

What do you define as mobile? For example I don’t think there is a single mobile qb in the nfc south - do we agree here?

Teddy is actually mobile, so is Garoppolo. Mayfield and Jackson are both mobile(Jackson is actually a rushing QB). Big Ben was actually a mobile QB back in his prime. Age and the pounding has made him far less mobile.

I don't think we agree on what makes a QB mobile.

Burrow, Lamar Jackson and Baker Mayfield are all mobile in my eyes. What’s your definition of “mobile”?

Someone who can escape a linebacker or defensive end. But I think I’m thinking mobile differently than the group here.

Yeah I think we just have different bars for mobility. I think most of the league is mobile enough to escape a backer or end if they see them quick enough. And Lawrence, Wilson, Fields and Lance are all mobile QBs as well.

Copy that. I see this as more guys that could take over games scrambling and running. To me mobile is elusive enough to get away from trouble at times.

Gotcha. Yeah the drew Bledsoe’s are gone now from the league. Seems like all young qbs have the ability to shuffle in the pocket or bootleg. It’s a necessity. I don’t see Mac Jones struggling there.

Most people don't differentiate between "mobile" and "run threat" but I think it's more accurate to do so.

The vast majority of QBs in the league today could be considered mobile in the sense that they can move around in the pocket and occasionally take off running if necessary.

Bridgewater would be one of those guys.

However, nobody's adjusting their game plan around the threat of Teddy's running. That's the kind of thing you do for a Lamar Jackson type.
