Hard to judge a QB when guys are out there  running butt naked all game.

I don't think any QB only has film of them throwing to wide open guys. Although Jones may not have volumes of film of him throwing into windows, I am quite sure they exist. You have to scrutinize that stuff.

It's possible he gets downgraded because of the talent around him. We shall see. It's also possible he goes out and lights up all the workouts/combine/interviews.

Consider that Joe Burrow was selected #1 overall last year and he was not a tremendously physically gifted passer nor athlete.

That’s fair and I thought he’d be a bust and he proved me wrong.

I think Zach Wilson will either be a bust or the goat lol. I love him and hate him as a prospect all at the same time.

Ever since Jimmy I don’t really give QBs a chance. Contrary to popular to belief I thought Cam was going to be a bust and wanted AJ Green in that draft.

Last year our starting QB threw for 15 TDs...his career high. I think Mac Jones could come in and easily beat that mark as rookie QB. I don't think he's a top 10 talent so I wouldn't pick him at #8. But, if he was still available in the 2nd I'd strongly consider selecting him if the front office feels like it has to get their franchise guy in this years draft (I don't for the record).

Will Grier couldn't beat out Kyle Allen last year, or PJ Walker this year as our 2nd string QB. Both were undrafted while Grier is a 3rd round pick. It's probably time to cut bait with him. At worst Jones could sit on the bench for 2021 and challenge for the starting job the following year. He could possibly even beat Bridgewater for the starting job this year.

I think he could/would do fine in our system throwing to Moore, Anderson, and McCaffrey out of the backfield.

I was certain Cam was going to be a bust because I couldn't look past my hatred of him at Allbarn.

Very happy to have been proven to be wrong and enjoyed watching him play for us.

I am also not a fan of Jones but I can't sit here and claim that I have done a deep dive film study on him to make my own evaluation.

Name an Alabama QB that turned out to be good...WRs won’t be that open in the NFL. Tua might eventually be good, but don’t forget people thought he was gods gift.

Trey Lance is the best QB in this draft not named Trevor.

Don't forget about "Broadway" Joe Namath & Kenny "The Snake" Stabler.

I dunno. Burrow's arm talent showed a lot in College the year before. Plus, Burrow showed he could scramble outside the pocket to find a receiver. I like him a lot. And I hate LSU.

I would say that Burrow definitely doesn't have elite arm talent for the NFL. Not IMO. He does have scrambling ability, I will say that.

Wasn't a big fan of him coming into the NFL but he was impressive early for the Bengals. I do think it was obvious he wasn't the caliber of QB that Herbert is, however. That much seems pretty obvious.

With Jones we are all asking the same thing, can he make "big time throws"?

Is the lack of that because he can't or because he doesn't have to?  That's two totally different things.

If he can make an easy pass to a wide open Smith why should he be attempting more difficult throws?  I wouldn't

I think personal workouts and the combine will be huge for him.  Teams are going to want to simulate those type of throws.

On a side note, over the last two games for Fields you definitely see the arm talent.  His best throws are probably a lot more impressive than Jones best.  Here again maybe Jones doesn't have to make those throws or maybe he can't.

I watched the video breakdowns, and Mac has some skills--but it just seemed that the schemes predeterimined, to a large degree, where the ball is going and the athletes at WR did not often require that he go through many progressions.  Mac could become a very solid NFL QB, but he seems to project to a borderline starter.  Just my take, but some team could fall in love with him.  I see that. Washington or NE, maybe.

You can see he is surrounded with talent, and that is correct, but he did not disappoint on his end--he puts the ball where it needs to be.  He does not lose games.  fwiw.
