Why do people keep mentioning Gano and Butler? It's done! Give it a rest already! Hurney's gone! Look to the future! There's someone out there that can do better than both! 

2016 was awful. A kicker under 80% with 3 XP misses to boot is awful. His miss at Denver lost that game. He missed 4 FGs in the two Tampa losses where we lost by 3 and by 1. He missed an XP against the Raiders where we then went for 2 twice to make up for that and we of course lost by 3. If he doesn’t choke, we’re easily 9-7 and maybe 10-6 even with the OL being decimated by injuries that year. Bonus was that we did get CMC and a great 2017 draft so thanks Gano for missing 11 kicks in 2016!

I don’t even care, I just don’t get the Gano love. Dude was terrible in 2016, missed a key chip shot in the 2017 playoffs, lost his coach’s faith in 2018 and missed all of 2019 and people still bring him up. He wasn’t Cam or Smith or Peppers or Luke. I can see the fondness people have in them and why they keep coming up. Gano?

The reason we lost was simple: Funchess dropped a gimme touchdown with 11 seconds left.

Good kickers make all the kicks in a close playoff game. The reason we lost was that we had to go for a TD at the 21 instead of a FG. The 58 yarder was nice but the other team’s kicker hit a 57 yarder. It’s nice being in a dome but missing a 25 yarder that eliminated an easy FG to win absolutely cost us the game.

Heck, I’d say the trading of our only healthy WR for a pick that became Gaulden also cost us the game as Cam had one armed Funchess, Wofford and Clay as his WRs. Clay missed an easy TD right before the 25 yard miss. I know we all hate KB but that was a catch he’s made for Cam a bunch of times.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s stretching things to say a K choked a game away when he misses a 25 yarder and then doesn’t have a chance to win it with a 38 yarder indoors.

Justin Tucker has missed 1 FG and no XPs in 8 playoff games. Gostkowski missed 1 FG in the SB win runs and only 5 total in 28 playoff games. McManus in Denver’s SB season was 10 for 10 in the playoffs, including 3 for 3 against us.

Gano missed 3 FGs in 7 playoff games, 2 losses and 1 win.

Nobody’s perfect but the top Ks have been better than Gano. He was paid like a top guy but he’s never been clutch.
