What is so far-fetched about what was said? No one is touting him as the second coming. Most are saying he is a capable starter who can win with the right pieces around him. He’s not going to carry a team. There’s truth to all of that.

i think most would disagree with the capable starter part

As WarHeel noted “with the right pieces around him”.

Prior to 2020, Bridgewater went 22-11 (.667 win %) as a starter in meaningful games with 2 different teams.

Putting him behind a patchwork OL opposite of a defense bleeding points isn’t doing him any favors.

Cam got a lot of passes that Teddy doesn’t get. We obviously have 3 great mid to long yardage weapons in Samuel, Anderson, and Moore but having CMC injured 90% of the year deflated the hell out of the offense, especially when Defenses are cutting through our line like Swiss cheese. Hell, I’d check down every play too.

so if you pay him backup qb money and stack the rest of the team around him with that money he can have the games won for him

not what i would call a capable starter

Sounds as though your complaint would be better directed at Hurney than Bridgewater.

i'm saying he was able to go 22-11 because he wasn't paid as a starter. he was on his rookie deal and paid as a backup in NO. if that's what teddy requires (a silly stacked team) for mild success then he is not a capable starter. capable starters are getting $30 mil per yr.

i'm not complaining about anything. i responded to someone saying he is a capable starter. that's just not true.

Every qb needs a good team to win. Look at Watson in Houston. This debate is going in circles.

Great example. I doubt Mahomes plays at such a high level without all the talent surrounding him as well. Talk about being drafted into the perfect situation.

Teddy had weapons. Yes, CMC would have been an even better weapon, but his absence isn’t why we lost games.

DJ Moore, Robbie Anderson, Curtis Samuel, and Mike Davis are very good weapons. The o-line wasn’t great, but Teddy made bad decisions....especially when it came down to the red zone.
