Falcons were one...

#Panthers OC Joe Brady, a bright up-and-coming offensive mind, received requests from the #Falcons, #Texans, and #Chargers to interview for their vacant head coach jobs, source said. A new name into the HC mix.

Jesus Christ, wtf?! We have, at best, one more year of Joe Brady. He’s going to be gone so fast it’ll make our heads spin. Damn....

Like, what coaching staff could he bring along? I don't think he has the connections at the moment. I really don't think he's ready yet.

It'd depend on who we permitted.

As is, we might already be losing our QB Coach and an offensive assistant to LSU.

Considering Teddy's progress this year could that really be considered a loss?

Having to replace an offensive coordinator, a quarterback coach, an offensive assistant and possibly more under a head coach with just one year of experience during the same cycle where we're hiring a new GM...

Could've some challenge in that.

He’s gonna be gone this year or next. So don’t draft or bring in a qb just to specifically fit his system. I’ve seen a lot of posters saying can’t draft such and such cause he doesn’t fit Brady’s system. Draft on talent alone and build around what that player does well.

From a pure offensive mind, he would be great.  But this is head coach.  More about assembling all sorts of defensive, special teams personnel, etc.  If I were Brady, I would want to stay at Carolina for at least 2 more seasons and learn the NFL ropes.  Then, have a much better chance of sticking wherever I went.  Plus, many more opportunities will come his way where the destinations might be more coveted.

He shows promise as a an OC but I think making him a HC too soon will not go well. He's not ready.

Agreed. It would be a cluster. I’m sure people will mention McVay but his NFL experience before HC dwarfs Brady’s.

Honestly, I don’t know what I’d want to do if I’m Brady. He’s young enough that he’d probably get another chance if he falls on his face, but under Rhule seems like the perfect learning experience. Rhule has taken over 3 “franchises” now and with a new GM coming in, Brady’s got a great chance to learn to do the HC gig right from the start. He hasn’t even been through a full off-season in the NFL as a coordinator. Hard to turn down that opportunity but wanting to do it right the first time and be successful would be what I’d want to do. If things go bad, it could shut the door for good. Chudzinski never got another chance and it was a decade before McDaniels got another chance.

This will put us in a bind, bc Rhule would in all likelihood promote Peetz. . . who is currently interviewing for the LSU OC position. Hate to put him in a position where he would have to back out of an agreement if he wants to stay in the NFL.
