Assessing the upcoming Draft and Needs of those in front of us

Tua has not looked good at all in the games that I saw. It is dangerous to assume that Miami is not in the market for a QB. In fact, if I was them I would be looking to move on. I am convinced that the Panthers will rue the day they won that Washington game. There one hope other than an expensive trade-up is to hope that Lance is the real deal and that he falls to them.

I am not buying the Trask or Jones hype and you are highly unlikely to find your franchise QB in any round but the first round this year. Arguably, the only real winner in that Washington game was Bridgewater as his chances of remaining the starting QB increased significantly and the Panthers lose significantly because of it. He is the worst of all worlds - good enough to win a few games and not bad enough to set you up for a high QB draft pick. Because of this my fear is that our futility and mediocrity will continue.

The fact of the matter is that the decision to sign him was simply disastrous and I would love to know who pushed for this signing. I am not convinced it was Brady. The only person who would be willing to overlook reality in hopes that the signing would pay off is someone on the last year of his contract who was desperately looking to justify a new contract. Only Marty Hurney fell into that category.

EVERYTHING that happened after that signing was imminently predictable as evidenced by the posts of many on this board at the time. Stupid....just STUPID.....and our suffering continues!

I think Stafford is gone.  Falcons are stuck w/ Matt Ryan as their starter in 2021.  Massive cap hit. Probably 2022 too.

That still won't keep them from taking a QB, I don't think. ESPECIALLY if Fields is there, he's a Kennesaw kid. Falcons fans would riot if the team didn't take him. Falcons lost a hilarious amount of close games this year, the data shows there luck will reverse there soon especially with a more competent coaching staff. I like them to win 8 or so games next year. They are in a unique spot, almost a gift to where they can go ahead and wrap up their QB of the future. With a new HC & GM I'll be stunned if they don't capitalize on this. I'm sure they could also find a trade partner for Matt Ryan if needed.

What I'm saying is, Ryan's contract sure won't keep the Falcons from taking a QB.

I don't know.  Atlanta is in a weird spot for whatever their new HC/front office is.   They got a poo ton of money tied up into Matt Ryan and Julio Jones.   Kinda handicaps them and keeps them in the same win now window (which comically was what this year was).   Not sure the new coach is going to want to spend a draft pick on a QB to sit.

Would you guys trade 8 and Bridgwater for Stafford.  They get out of Stafford contract a year earlier and have the ammunition (picks 7 & 8) to get Fields or Wilson.  We get a known commodity franchise QB with 5 good years left.  Its a big cap hit, but I'd like to see what Brady can do with a real QB with a few weapons.  Use our 2nd / 3rd on OL and we're ready to go.
