In spite of the Giants winning....

ive said this a few times. please stop using the "gust of wind" excuse. as said in previous threads. blame your team and the humans and even crowd noise for crying out loud for losing the game. but please, please stop blaming wind and weather. the giants were on the same field, in the same weather, kicking fg's and extra points and throwing etc etc. if you dont like the weather affecting the performance of your team, i suggest you start watching billiards, table tennis, indoor swimming, etc etc, good game

I'm not so sure he's using it as an excuse, but rather showing that we were so close that the game could have easily gone the other way. It just... didn't. I mean we technically had 2 chances to win including the fg. So the giants deserve credit.

Don't even give him the time of day. The double standard in this league team to team is so sickening if they lost it would be "What the Giants didn't do right" instead of "What the Giants did do right", they wouldn't even credit us for a win as much as they would slam the Giants because they can't admit that an expansion team actually beat them.

I'm not saying we were better. I'm just saying the better team hasn't been decided yet. Everybody thought the Pats were a much more advanced team than the Giants in that week 17 win, and then here comes the superbowl and it's a completely different story.

OK. For those of you missing the original focus of the thread yeah, the better team doesn't always win.

But I'm not going to get all into that as much as DESPITE what the Giants did and some of ya slobbering over the 300 yds look at what Bull is saying.

We played not to lose STARTING in the 2nd half.

It was a quirky game. Giants rack up rushing yards. Controlled the clock. Did NOT sack Jake or get a turnover and BARELY won.

To me, the Giants were not far and away the better team. They utilized thier matchups correctly at the right time. I give them credit for that.

Would love to play them again. Because that 21-10 will be 35-10 next time.

They weren't far and away the better team, nobody is saying that. They were better that night though. They had more yards, controlled the clock (which led to our defense getting tired), had more points, more first downs, a better 3rd down percentage (albeit slight)...we weren't "better" in any aspect of the game.

Doesn't mean they'll win next time, but they were the better team that night in almost every aspect of the game.

The Panthers put themselves in the position to win the game. They controlled the score, tempo and momentum from their first drive until the Giants tied the game. At that point, with over 2 minutes remaining, the Panthers managed the clock, kept possession, and had the shot to win the game at the end of regulation. A half-step hesitation, a 50 yard kick, wind and temperature were factors in the missed opportunity. The kick was missed; we held in OT; we missed another opportunity, and then the D broke down. I bet the team can get past it. I know I have.
