Teddy says he made playoffs before while only throwing 14 tds

I am not really sure why people are skewering what he said. It was pretty boilerplate kind of stuff. You might dislike the guy because he isn't what you want him to be but he didn't throw anyone under the bus nor did he deflect blame. He just talked about the team and his relationship to it. There was literally nothing in that interview he said that was actually wrong.

I want to get a new QB but it isn't because I think Teddy is some egomaniac that is above it all. I just don't think he is "The Guy."

Question was specifically asking if Teddy thought he produced enough to return as a starter and he brought the whole team into it (why the 'we' for a 'you' question), also citing his 14 TD year in the process as if that's some metric of success. Coupled with his comments about playcalling and other things these past weeks it's indicative of a less than ideal mindset.

I hope he continued to pump himself up, maybe someone will send a late round pick to get a plan B/ back up QB. I know, slim chances but still a positive way of getting away from this Teddy shaped mistake.

Teddy's ceiling is so low he probably has to walk around hunched over all day.

He literally started that statement by admitting it is a production based league. The he went classic boilerplate "we" talk, and pointed out how he and the team needed to be better.

So, he basically said he needed to be better and the team needed to be better. How is that wrong? He didn't say, "Well I could do better but it was mainly because my teammates didn't execute well."

It was mostly a bunch of coach/player speak drivel.

That's pretty much exactly what he said though. Why bring 'we' into a 'you' question at all? No reason to do so unless it's deflection.

Answers weren't that bad as the out of context quote.

Still need to move on from him. Teddy will most likely be the starter next year. I hope so, because I want our next QB to sit out the majority of the first year and develop on the sideline. Put in the drafted QB in a few games at the end to see were he is at. Then Teddy can be cut before 2022.

Did you watch the video? He literally didn't dodge the question. He addressed the production based league, he talked about needing the team to be better in terms of execution, him needing to be better and talked about being better in the red zone. He defended himself by saying he did have 5 rushing TD's and also that he had less production for a playoff team.

I don't hear the beeping of a bus backing up over his teammates, I hear him defending himself after a reporter asked for him to justify his starting job.

It is dramatically being blown out of proportion here. He wasn't even upset when he was saying this, he was just answering stream of consciousness. Watch the video. It is extremely obvious.

I want the guy gone too but don't attempt to interject subtext that isn't there. It isn't necessary. His season spoke for itself as far as what his future is here.

I did, and it's as simple as he was asked a direct question about himself and proceeded to respond with a bunch of 'we need to do better' along with 'I need to do better'. There's no reason for it since the entire team wasn't included in the question, no subtext necessary.

I am just going to disagree. I think people are just sort of hearing what they want to hear from his comments. They were pretty inoffensive, IMO.
