How do we feel about Matt Rhule after one season?

We were competitive in just about every game with a taped together roster with almost no pre-season work because of COVID. There was a point where we were legitimately thinking playoffs which was insane.

Obviously, there is room for improvement. We have to start winning some of those close games next season.

I think we at least have an idea and philosophy of what Rhule wants the team culture to be. Year one is about establishing a team identity. I don't think we'll truly know what we have in Rhule until year 3 or 4 and that's with knowing who our franchise QB is going to be (which we don't). We didn't peak until year 4 of Cam during his MVP season. I think the Bills did it the right way with drafting their QB and helping develop him, it took them 2-3 years to get to the playoffs and now they look like a consistent playoff team. KC took a couple of years with Mahomes as full time starter before winning Super Bowl. We absolutely need to find our franchise QB and soon to start jumpstart this rebuild.

I don't trust his judgement; he may realize Bridgemanager stinks now, but he was fine with signing him to start the year or at least put his trust in Brady who has also now proved himself as having poor judgement.

This is very concerning...particularly as the same people who wanted Bridgewater are picking the next qb

i have this terrible feeling no QB will be drafted this year in the first

I give him a B-

Team looked way better than expected early on for a 3 game winning streak and was WAY more competitive than expected. So I give him credit where credit is due.

But late in the season I think the team looked like trash, made stupid mistakes, and overall fell apart. Bridgewater should have been benched after the Minnesota loss.

Bridgewater should have been benched for who?

we were supposed to be the worst team in the league and barring a total shitshow from Teddy the second half of the year we would have been playing for playoff contention imo.

Rhule's awesome, he's not the problem

PJ Walker or literally anyone else. Bridgewater was playing backup caliber football, give the other guys a legit shot with a week of prep instead of throwing them in at the end of the last game of the season in a blowout after the team stopped giving a sh*t

PJ Walker who's thrown 5 INTs in 6 quarters of football?

The team never 'stopped giving a poo' against the Saints, they were literally completely outmatched. Same as the Bucs games.

Over half of our salary cap was either dead money or injured for most of the games. He had no offseason, a modified training camp, COVID protocols all year, and played a ton of rookies all over field. He's saddled with a QB with clear physical limitations. Despite that, we were competitive in all but two of our games.

He's always played from a talent deficit in college and did well. What will be interesting to see is how he does once our roster is more on par with the rest of the league.
