1-6-2002: Patriots 38, Panthers 6

This game and this season feels eerily similar to 01-02. That final game against New England had about as many fans as this one and we were a team of mostly guys who had no business in the league and a few promising young pieces that would later form a good core group. Of course we were better the next year and the year after were in the super bowl.

I’m not optimistic but here’s hoping.

Idk. A lot of those same players were on the SB team. Smitty, Morgan, Buckner, Rucker, Moose, etc.

I was there and unlike today, was sitting in the rain.  Today...warm, dry, lounging in sweats.  In 2002...cold, wet and miserable with a long drive home.
