God help us. Yes the giants won two Super Bowls. But after 2011, they were so mediocre it’s not even funny.  I’m so done with giant personal, geez. I just don’t want NFC least people anymore, let’s grab somebody from Baltimore or Pittsburgh.

I just want a GM that knows how to handle the salary cap and can do a decent job drafting. One that doesn’t constantly hand out big contracts.

Those two Giants rings- those teams were built by Acorsi. I’d also look at Reese draft history. He’s got a healthy dose of Hurney 2nd round bust disease, but in the 1st round.

He does have 2 rings, but one was earned by a 9-7 team that was one of the luckiest runs I have ever seen.

Still, do not discount experience, and I imagine that GMs with experience are going to be in demand. 

That thought has occurred to me, primarily because he doesn't necessarily fit the same profile as some of the other candidates (i.e. age, approach).

Can't discount the Matt Rhule connection though.

If Rhule is allowed to make another cronyism hire like Snowjob then don't expect this team to go anywhere under his coaching tenure.  Reese was putrid his last five seaons

Some of those "cronies" are actually great candidates.

Reese is a Rooney rule interview.  They need to get the minority interview out of the way so they can quickly move on whomever they are actually targeting to be the GM. 

He's also kind of like the McCarthy HC interview last year...someone to make it look like they are casting a wide net, when in reality, he isn't a legitimate candidate at all, just someone to throw the scent off of who they really want.

If you listen to what both Tepper and Rhule have said, Reese doesn't really fit what they're looking for.  And quite honestly, Reese's connection to Rhule is only a limited one.  Even when Rhule talks about his time with the Giants, it's Coughlin that he usually brings up, not Reese.  Rhule has much stronger ties to some of younger and more dynamic options being discussed.
