Wanting to win is OK

From working directly with the team for the last 10 years, the mindset is to always win. But this year is different. When you have an aging roster, then I can see wanting to play younger guys, see how they do because you don't care if you win or lose. But this year just feels different. The whole feeling around the organization is we are building toward a winner for years to come. It starts with a winning attitude all the time.

Coaches need to put players in a position to win or they look bad to the players. Players want to look good so they can have a long career and make more money. Draft picks are not always guaranteed to work out so play with what you got, pick or sign who you can and make them winners. I believe Rhule does that.

The fact we won without CMC and a rash if injuries should tell us something, even with Teddy. 2 or 3 good picks, a couple of more nice FA signings and we have a team that will win more games. Repeat and by 2022 we are competing to go deep into the playoffs. I can wait.

In the beginning of the year I said I did not care about the record, I just wanted to see a competitive team and for the most part, we got that. You build a winner by always trying to win, not matter who's on the team, draft status, who's in the stands (or not) and most important for yourself (as a player and coach).

The same people saying we should get this guy or that guy will be the same people complaining who ever we get. Lets see how it plays out and just root for the team.

Wanting something is fine so long as you can be smart about it. You can want a Taycan but if it’s not in your budget you know losing, in your heart, and settling for a Tesla Model 3 is likely better for your long term future, you know what to do...
