Philly is supposed to be openly stating that they will play their bench to see what they have for next year.  That really sucks if it determines the NFC East Champion.

Not sure about any other teams---

That may get them a win. Hurts is a winners and will have those young players playing inspired.

So we aren't getting to 3 or even 4, no way do all of these teams pull upsets particularly with a lot of them playing playoff contention teams. The good news is that the Giants, Detroit and Falcons all have a decent shot to win. IMO these are the three teams ahead of us *most* likely to take a QB.

Now that's not to say the Jets or the Dolphins at 3 couldn't trade with a QB needy team to leap ahead of us, but we at least want to be in a higher pecking order than the above mentioned teams imo. Atlanta and Detroit are the real enemies imo as I could see both moving on from their QBs this offseason.

Matt Ryan's cap hit is crippling.

And Payton is the kind of guy who is aware of that and will play accordingly.  He laughed when we beat them during meaningless games in previous years.

He will be watching the scoreboard, you can bank on that.  Rhule, meanwhile, will be looking to get that 6 on the banner we hang in BOA stadium instead of the embarrassing 5.

I think, however, NO will beat us--run up a score and then bench players in 4th quarter.

I keep on saying, Rhule is here to win, not accumulate high draft picks.

He's won 5 games with THIS squad - a bunch of rookies, UDFAs and Practice Squad players.

Our future isn't beholden to Fields / Wilson / Lance.

Absolutely, but he at least provides you some flexibility. We don't have a zero at the position.

If we were really pushing for a championship it sounds like Carr and Stafford will be available this offseason - we could just as easily pursue them. I don't think we will because the roster isn't set up for a run at the moment.

Yeah, those guys will have more attractive opportunities available to them. We need a rookie on a rookie contract to build around. An elite QB on a rookie contract is the closest thing to a cheat code that exists in the modern NFL.

Teddy is the epitome of zero

That’s how you keep your draft pick slot when you know the season is over.

I would like to win division titles and championships. That is not gonna happen with Teddy. If there is fans in the stadium next season, with Teddy, I am afraid most of them will be opponents. This franchise need something to get excited about and a highly picked QB would have done that. With a win Sunday that is not gonna happen, most likely already is.

To be fair a lot of fans sell their season tickets to the opposition anyway, so there'd be little change there.

Fields had a great game last night and Id love to get him but he will almost certainly be out of reach.  That said, picking later could be a blessing in disguise if it keeps us from reaching for one of those other QBs.  They all have serious question marks IMO.  Playing QB in the NFL is really fuggin hard.

Also, looking at this draft it doesn’t appear to be all that deep.  Scouting these player will take on a whole new level of difficulty as well.  Trading up should be a serious option for us.
