That win set this franchise back for 10 years if we don’t get a franchise QB

Maybe not 10, but definitely a few years. That being said there are 3 really good guys out there, hopefully after tomorrow we’re back to top 5 with some luck and can get either Fields or Wilson

Lawrence is clearly the cream of this qb crop, but I think the drop off from him to fields is shorter than the drop between fields and Lance, Wilson, Jones, Trask.

Fields reminds me of D. Watson. Great arm, great mobility, needs a little bit more polishing to be a superstar.

Man I’m the complete opposite. I see Trevor as the clear #1. I can see cases for both Wilson and Fields being the #2 and would be ecstatic with either. Wilson sees the game so much better this point in his career. Fields has all the physical tools.

I am thinking the Jets will go Fields if he has a nice game (or 2).  There is just no way they decide to stay with Darnold when Baby Cam (but more accurate) is available.

Miami to take Sewell.

I think Atlanta will go defense.

By the way, These Ohio St TEs are good blockers.  If they can be weapons, I am interested.

Matt Ryan is only 35.  He still have 5-6 years in him so I’m not sure if that’s the direction they want to go in.  Their D was their biggest issue, they got steamrolled.

His contract is crippling to.

Imagine Fields with Moore, Anderson, and Samuel--and a good TE?

My biggest fear is that Atlanta will take our QB. So hoping for them to win.

    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
    • Not a chance the SEC could compete with the NFL.  In the large cities that are not in the Southeast, (LA, NYC, Chicago, SF) College football is an afterthought.
