Was 2017 our Best Draft Ever?

Not really.

From a position value standpoint a Runningback at 8th overall is just dumb in today's NFL. They don't move the needle as much as they use to, even if they're racking up insane stats and breaking records. They also cost too much to sign longterm and often get injured.

Then the Daeshon Hall trade was just bad. Didn't Gettleman trade a third to move up?

Honestly, if you look back at that draft.... even with hindsight we made the best pick at 8. You could argue that Watson and Mahomes would have been a better pick, but we weren’t in need of a QB at the time. I can only see those two being better than us grabbing CMC. I wouldnt change a thing.

Daeshon Hall was one of those players that was hyped going into the draft that I could never understand why. I always thought he wasn’t anything special yet I kept seeing him projected to be drafted I believe in the late first to second round. He played on the same defensive line as Myles Garrett and couldn’t do well. He had the physical traits but that rarely translates to actually being successful.
