NFC East Week 17 showdowns to determine Panther draft position

This is for those who have not already figured this out.  If you have, no need to post, "I have already figured this out; no need for a thread."  We understand that and applaud your cerebral tenacity, but people may want to discuss these games.

All of this is based on the Panthers finishing the year at 5-11.  The unpredictable NFC East offers the most opportunity.

1. If the Giants defeat Dallas, the Panthers move up.  The game is in NY, and although the fans may not be a factor, the weather might.  Dallas is favored by 3.

2. If the Eagles beat WFT, the Panthers move up.  The WFT is playing their 4th QB and must win to make the playoffs.  The Eagles are eliminated but playing at home.  Jalen has them playing better.  The Eagles are 1.5 point underdogs.

3.  The Falcons, known for their uncanny ability to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory, will play at Tampa Bay.  The Bucs are favored by 7, but they should win easily.  However, if they look past Atlanta.....

4. Perhaps the third most likely opportunity for the Panthers to move up a spot will be the Detroit vs. Minnesota game.  The Vikings are favored by a TD, but they have lost 3 straight.  The Lions--the worst team in the history of the NFL---also have a 3-game losing streak and have been playing as if they are OK with that.  The Lions are at home and lost to Minnesota earlier this year.

So if the Panthers got lucky in all 4 of those games, they could pick as low as 5th.  But I see maybe 1 or at the most 2 games that could feature an upset:  The Eagles and the Giants.  Maybe the Lions--maybe.

If we think Wilson is a franchise QB and we pick at 7, we are going to have to make an uncomfortable trade. On one had it takes away valuable picks, but if he really is an Aaron Rogers clone, I'm good with that. We simply have to scout and draft well. No more quick fixes, do it right from the ground up. And, yes, I believe Wilson is all that and worth the trade up.
