As much as I love Sam Howell and would love nothing more to see him drafted by the Panthers in '22, that's a long shot. This overall QB class is much stronger than next year's. I think we almost have to make a move on a QB this year. Be aggressive. Target a guy and go get him. Don't sit and hope and pray he falls.

I like the aggressive approach too.

But from what I have read (and maybe some of you can help enlighten me) the main reason Jones and Trask are projected late first rounders is that they lack the ability to run (and possibly experience in college).  They read the defenses well, have good leadership skills, are accurate, and have good arms and high completion percentages, etc.

If you consider Brady's experience with Bridgewater and Burrow--will Jones or Trask not be the "type" he likes for his system?  We have a solid running game.  I am not worried about it.

We all know about Sewell, but there are 2 other really good tackles that are worthy of mid first round picks. Rashawn Slater and Christian Darrisaw.

I bring this up, because IF we miss on QB, I would love to trade back, add another 2nd, then pick one of these guys to finally nail down that LT position.

This OT class is pretty weak up top outside of Sewell.

Solid players, will be much better value elsewhere in the middle of the 1st.

Reminds me of the 2018 OT crop.  Jonah Williams was The guy (though not as hyped as Sowell)  then a bunch of other "solid guys".  Everyone was hyping up Andre Dillard who has been a flop, then the pther OTs fell tot he top of rd 2.

Slater and Darrisaw are definitely 1st round guys. If you want to get an idea of how good Slater can be, just go watch his game against Chase Young last year.

Okay, let me start by saying that I want a QB as bad as anybody. However, if we miss on one in the draft, maybe we can pull something like this.

Resign Moton, this has to happen.

Trade our top 10 pick back to around 15, while getting another 2nd.

Draft Slaton or Darrisaw at 15, finally locking down LT.

Draft Jevon Holland and Eric Stokes with the (2) 2nd round picks. Holland and Stokes have a lot of potential in the secondary.

Draft one of Landon Dickerson, Josh Meyers, or Trey Hill in the 3rd to lock down our Center.

Trade for Matthew Stafford to play QB. Stafford is very good, with a cannon for an arm, has just always played on crap teams. His talents with our weapons would be insane, an big plays would become the norm. He is 32 years old, probably has 4-5 good years left which goes along with McCaffrey contract. We would have both for that span.

After securing Stafford, trade Teddy to the Patriots for LG Joe Thuney. The Patriots and Belicheat had interest in Teddy when we signed him. They need a QB, and their offense is mostly a short passing game, so he should excel there.

In total, offensively this adds Stafford, totally rebuilds the OLine adding Thuney, rookie center, rookie LT, and resigning Moton. Having the veteran Thuney at LG between the 2 rookies would add value to having him. Defensively we add a stud FS and a very good CB, both could start day 1.
