I'd give Haskins a look this offseason.

I'd pass.  He has a lot of work to get him to be a functional NFL QB.  If he had some athleticism, maybe.  Just not enough upside to even sign as a project.  Hell, he got shown up by Heinicke.  I would be wondering why he even started over Heinicke, but I know the coach.

In fairness to Haskins, he was probably meditating or just disgusted.

Haskins could be a player who feeds off the crowd (remember the selfie incident) and without fans, he was unmotivated because it was surreal.

That is all that I can say for him---he probably just sucks.

In another matter, does anyone here expect to hear that Cam has retired soon?  I am waiting for that announcement--after seeing his sideline expressionless gazes after getting yanked.

Yeah yeah, I know, he looked horrible. But he had no decent coaching. It's not like the Rivera regime were churning out good QBs. In fact, they are horrid at handling QBs.

I'd at least take a long look at him and a discussion or two.

I had a similar thought last week, but wasn't brave/crazy enough to post it, lol. If (when) WFT cuts him, why the heck not? I'm not saying start him, but he is a former first rounder who has potential. A change of scenery might really help him, If not...throw him back.

Edit: Apparently he was already cut when I wrote this.

People can make excuses for a 23 year old all they want but that’s a grown man making child decisions and can’t back it up on the field. Hard pass.

Nobody was making excuses for him--I simply considered possible over-reactions or misinterpretations.  We really do not know what he was doing or thinking- I always try to examine possible explanations before rushing to conclusions-to look at any situation from the other perspective.  In all likelihood, you are right, but at 23, I made a few childish decisions.

Jeremy is talking about kicking the tires, not marriage.

There's no hope for Haskins. The WFT did everything they could to gift wrap the starting QB job for him. His teammates even elected him a captain. He did nothing with it. He'll probably bounce around a few rosters over the next season or two and that'll be it for him. I hope we aren't one of the teams that wastes our time on him.

There are levels of maturity in decision making. Ones that impact yourself, family, and your career. It’s one thing to jeopardize yourself. This was a whole different level of stupidity. I think we all grow up at different rates but some mistakes resound more than others. Especially when the guy sucked out loud on the field.

At least you know you post this without hearing from people with no inside information or first-hand experience yet they have an uncanny ability to diagnose any given situation by watching television.  I think this is what makes our country great.

The way Ron threw Haskins under the bus after the game to (once again) avoid blame is typical, and anyone who buys into that is foolish.

Haskins sucked--we all saw that and can agree--but to say he was sleeping on the sideline---in 40 degree weather wearing a football helmet---based on a photograph or six seconds of footage---is careless.  What we know:  His eyes were closed.  What we all assumed: He was in the throws of REM and dreaming of Strip Clubs and fan selfies.  Careless thinking.

Yes, it looks as though Haskins is another Ohio State system QB and has the brain of a Jameis Winston, but he could be developed into a serviceable backup QB.
