There’s no way we’re picking 1st next year, that’s the thing. The teams growing, obviously. Win or lose today, we were growing. We potentially just lost the chance take someone that could turn the franchise into a scary one. Right now, at best, we look like we’ll be locked into mediocrity.

So there won't be any great QBs in the NFL Draft ever again?

I didn't realise Wilson, Fields and Lance were ranked that highly.

There will be. But how long do you give this core? We’re not gonna suck that badly again and I honestly don’t wanna watch another season of a growing team limited by a slug QB.

The Core is literally all under 25.

Our window hasn't even opened yet - we're not a QB away from being a consistently good team. There will be other QBs - hell there's probably a QB we could take later on in this Draft that we could sit and develop.

We should definitely not draft a QB in the draft this year.  The draft is rich in talent at spots we are thin.  Build the o-line, get lb’s, gets safety so can move on from Boston.  Same for interior d-line so we can move on from short.

2022 draft will have QB talent as well like Sam Howell.

I am all in on getting Jevon Holland in the 2nd to replace Boston, but this team better do something about QB

Point me to which though, that’s all I’m asking lol. It’s easy to just say “heck we’ll get one later” and assume it’s that easy. Do you believe in Trask, Jones, Newman, Purdy, mond? I honestly don’t see it with any of them.

lmao 2022 draft is Sam Howell and a bunch of shitters. we literally have to be the worst team in the league next year to get him.

2022 draft doesn't look strong in very many areas to be honest, unless we could land Derek Stngley. Now, the 2023 draft could be exciting.

I haven't done a deep dive on any prospect so I wouldn't like to say with any certainty (although I don't like Newman as he quit and I don't think Mond is an NFL QB).

Sometimes the best scenario is to draft someone like Trask / Jones et al on Day 2 or Day 3, let them sit a year to learn the offence / get used to the speed of the NFL / get into an NFL S&C conditioning programme and then see what they've got.

It's clear that it won't take much to supplant Bridgewater as the starting QB.

I'm of the opinion that you should draft a QB every other year and ALWAYS carry three on your roster - so this year is prime for a later round QB pick.

Carolina is not drafting a qb in the 1st. Never was.  #letitgo. They did not sign bridgewater for 3 years to draft a qb high the next year.

His contract is really only 2 year deal.  We can cut him with little dead money after 2nd year.  It’s almost 100% we are drafting QB to sit behind Bridgewater for a year.

The year is 2028 and you just watched Zach Wilson win his second Superbowl with the Atlanta Falcons. With the retirement of Brees and Brady after his rookie year, (and another pathetic team just merely existing in the division), Wilson and the Falcons dominated the NFC South during the early 2020s, with their first championship coming in an upset against Patrick Mahommes and the KC Chiefs.

You sigh and log onto the Carolina Huddle, the Panthers are picking in the middle yet again. You see a thread about a mock draft, this one is interesting because instead of drafting a linebacker, this one has the Panthers drafting a running back. "fug yeah!" posts one moron, "build through the trenches, bring back tried and true smash mouth football, and #trusttheprocess". You look at the mock draft and indeed, this one has us taking Jerome Mcdonald, a runningback from the University of Miami. At the top of the draft, sits the New Orleans Saints, who have all but locked up Arch Manning, the nephew of Peyton who had a dominating college career.

At the end, the Panthers, with Marty Hurney on his 4th stint, took Jerome Mcdonald, and the Panthers trophy case remains empty.
