Trade the farm to the Jets 2nd pick ASAP

Well, in that case, I hope whoever made those decisions has learned their lesson.

Don't want Panthers forever doomed to continue Marty's approach to building a football roster.

Young coaches with total control make mistakes. It happens. Jimmy Johnson selected Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft a couple months after taking Aikmen at #1 overall in his 1st year. That turned out to be the #1 overall pick in next draft.

I still think Ruhle will be very successful in Carolina. But he made a mistake with TB and his contract.

Don’t be silly. Nobody is trading for that contract.

Sure they would. We'd have to eat all he guaranteed money. The base salaries are very manageable. The problem is that between all the dead money and Teddy would mean you'd have nearly $50M tied up in a backup QB and RB no longer on the roster next year.

this is a running back driven league. you don’t trade the highest paid running back in the league for a shot at a quarterback. besides after all these injuries he will be well rested and ready to go next year. no reason to believe running backs are more susceptible to injury, even after losing entire seasons to injuries.

Gonna be really interesting to see if Philly passes on Micah Parsons, he's in-state and elite, and for which corner that is, Farley or Surtain.

I wouldn't wanna trade the farm to move up in the top ten but I would trade next year's first and maybe third if it were for Fields. I'd want to try and hang on to this year's draft picks bc some of the good spots are where the team needs help it seems

Also, are we happy settling for Mac Jones? He can throw the deep ball.

I mean if we miss out on the QBs bc teams like WFT trade up ahead of us, I'm happy with a corner like Surtain or Farley, or trading down most preferably. Seems like a solid rebuild strategy, try and replicate what you did for the defense last year with offense (and more defense)

The same thing that happens to every athlete at some point in their career. He’ll be back to play at a high level again next year. You act like you have some almighty foresight.

You cannot touch the ball over 700 times in 2 seasons and not have something bad happen to you.  Thats too much wear and tear on anyone. Hopefully that didnt ruin him.   But based on the last month or so I think we broke him.  That contract is just insanely stupid now.

Ruin is a strong word. An ankle or a knee injury is expected at some point from a RB and he would have been back after 6 weeks and likely played the season out if not for a fluke shoulder injury that occurred on the last drive of the game. I blame 2020.

How do you know its a "fluke"?  And now he is dealing with a quad issue.  We may have broken him.  How much would his contract be for now if we were negotiating it or do we just add on the 5th option and let him play it out?  But instead we did the idiotic move of paying him needlessly.
