Potential QB breakdowns

I don’t think so. Saints is a lot of quick reads and seam shots. It’s a fast processing system, unless you are suggesting we run the vanilla Hill version with a ton of qb runs.

I’m suggesting, easily, that if Taysom Hill and Teddy B can have success in that offense and get Ws that Justin Fields can as well.

Time will tell, if we get him. I just cant buy in quite yet. Maybe he will wear on me in coming weeks. TBD. Stay tuned.

At this point, after Lawrence all the QBs are a crap shoot. Trading back seems like a better idea each day that goes by. Especially with all of the QBS that are predicted to go in the top 20.

I'm hoping we get Wilson but I honestly would be happy with Fields as well.  Regardless of who we get, I say sit them for the year...let Teddy start and then in the next off-season build up the O-Line through the draft and free agency with all that money that can be saved when dumping Teddy's last year of his contract.

It’s hard to know what our offense is supposed to be with Teddy Two Yards and missing CMC most of the year.

It’s basically the Saints offense. Quick scoring, dunk and dunk play style until the defense bites then stretch the field. Athletic and fast backfield vs. a bruising one - which is not going to be effective without a good oline. But CmC is perfect for that and we have the dink and dunk. What we don’t have is the oline, or ability to stretch the field with TB.

As much as I do not Wilson with a top pick I won’t deny he is pretty much an ideal prototype in every way for Brady. I’d assume after him we’d be an oline, LB and DB piece away from seriously competing.

Crap shoot??? this is one of the deepest and top heavy QB classes to date. There very well could be 5 QB's taken in the first round. I don't disagree with the idea of trading down and getting a CB, or OT that you know you can get out of the top 10 while accumulating draft capital. But, to say the QB class after Lawrence is garbo is just not right at all.

If Wilson is gone sign me up for trey lance over fields

Same lol but I'd rather trade back and try and get Lance if that's their guy. He has the highest ceiling besides Lawrence IMO, but he also has the lowest floor bc he's such a raw prospect and was on a very run heavy power house FBS team.

History shows that first round qbs are more failure than succcess. History also shows that only 31% of all first round picks in the NFL become consistent career starters (6+ seasons as starters).

so yes, it’s a crap shoot. The entire draft is.

What makes you feel that way? I prefer Wilson as well like I said, just curious to why you think he wouldn't work in our system?

Processing time, long wind up, short throw accuracy and pocket presence. These are all items he needs to work. However, if you

review some of the footage from his games, he looks like a deer in headlights when it comes to those topics. Also, as much as he is hyped, I’d want to see a better deep ball.

This guy makes some good points, and he has some NFL/college experience and is now a high school coach, if i am not mistaken.  And after watching game tape, he does a good job of reading the game situation and discussing mental challenges.  I suppose I would like to know if the QB makes the right read, how about timing and the quickness of his release? Etc.  Mechanics.

I think Mahomes has people scared to get into mechanics--because his are not that great.  Mahomes has great vision and anticipation.
