So having fun playing a kids game is now a character flaw? Some of these football meatballs take themselves and their sport way too serious. Y’all play a kids game.

They said something about him having fun playing a kids game being an issue?

This

Wilson has character concerns, rich kid who is an entitled brat - uncle owns Jet Blue -, parents are a pain, not a leader, selfish, and he's a know-it-all.

does not jive with this

"His positives are that he's super competitive, not to get scared and won't back down, extremely confident, very smart with keen recall and teammates will play for him."

Basically, we've got what, a year's worth of tape on him as a starting QB? And the only ranked team BYU played this season was Coastal Carolina, who manhandled them?

Forget character issues. How about having a real read on the guy's ability, much less how well he'll stand up to NFL competition. And I'm not impressed that he played well in and won the Jimmy's Red Wigglers Bait Bowl.

A suddenly hot college prospect QB who whoops up on second tier talent for a single season? Yeah, might be worth a third rounder, but let's face it, Will Grier had a better roll of tape against better opponents. And that guy is currently third on our bench when he can get a uniform.

Hate to say it, but I think if you're all in for Wilson, you've fallen into the flavor of the month club.

CONCERNS is a better word that ISSUES.

Folks, it is December.  Every candidate will be over-analyzed.  I am not worried about it.  Can he play?  Does he love playing?  Is he a leader?  If all three are "yes" take him.

Nailed it on the concerns vs issue.

This is the time to be asking all of this. Our staff should be able to gauge these things in meetings. It's also really easy, even today, to cover up some vile crap in the colligate ranks. Towns with colleges have been known to help their guys, I saw some of it when I was in college. Now is the time to shake trees and see if any skeletons fall out. As far as what this guy is saying? Sounds more like noise to me.

It's WAY too early for me to fall in love with any of these prospects. The draft hype BS is starting to ramp up. It's some quality input and tons upon tons of dumb and dumber. As long as our QB has a strong arm, a functioning brain on & off the field and can be coached up we will be golden.

If you think he's the flavor of the month, you just weren't paying attention pre-December.

I've heard he experimented with Coke a couple times.

I heard it was Fresca.

In all seriousness, I've observed that Mormon parents in general tend to expect maximum effort from their children.  Not to the "Tiger Mom" level of some Asian societies, but they do expect a lot.  I don't see this as a bad thing.

Bottom line is can the kid play?  Does he love to play?  Will he elevate the players around him?  These are the things you need to know about your QB.  Every QB in the draft not named Trevor Lawrence has flaws.  This is true every year.  It doesn't really define who "makes it" as an NFL QB.  It's the most difficult position to project in all of professional sports in my opinion.

Predicting success for a QB in the NFL is probably not much better than a coin flip for anyone.  Find a guy who seems to have the general traits you want in a QB, do your homework and if you believe in him, draft him.  The biggest factor is what your staff thinks of his fit.  Everything else is just noise.

Yea..sunglasses...they keep the flashy bs outta my eyes...that deceive you and others. Our first pick has to contribute day one when ur a retooling team...this guy will crumple the first time he gets hit by an NFL player...he has bust written all over him...take a shot in second round....maybe..
