Where shall we start?

Do you think the Rooney's gave even a minute of thought to putting Colin Kaepernick's closest ally on their roster?

How did that particular move align with the Rooney's and their "old school" modus operandi?

In this day and age, we all have a front row seat....including you.

That can be seen as a political thing than solely about football, but the Steelers' realistically could have been looking at it from the football side! The Steelers' don't generally make moves out of desperation, and really they are focused on football. But it's not like they're adverse to taking on provocative issues! Indeed, they may be the poster child for forward thinking!

You must remember that the Rooney Rule is named that for a reason.

In the NFL character actually counts a great deal. Not on the field so much as in the locker room and elsewhere.  He is very young and surely can learn to change his attitudes and beliefs. Besides who knows if it is true.

I remember Cam having a separate workout room when he first got here and other things he had to learn about being a teammate given in college he had different teammates each year and he was the star. He never had to fit in and blend.  Thomas Davis was a great foil for him. I wonder if we have the locker room to handle it now with so many new guys.  What does Rhule value? It could be me but how many white privileged rich kids who are described as selfish and uncaring turn into humble giving caring adults? Sure it happens and it should, but personality and core beliefs are pretty enduring.  And does it matter as long as they have talent on the field?

Which then delves into the next question which is do you pick a guy who  would be great in our system or pick the most athletic strongest guy and build the system around him.

And Merry Christmas. Stay safe this holiday season.

I don't think they were but OK.

Good point.

Had the Rooney's taken over the Panthers at the exact time Tepper did, where would Hurndog have fit within the hierarchy of their organization, and how long would he have lasted?

Hurney likely would've been fired, I'm assuming, but that's pretty much the norm for new owners because they like to bring in their own guys. Many would probably say that was a mistake by Tepper, but I see it as measured and open-minded!
