Assuming we take Wilson in the 1st, who are your top 2nd and 3rd round targets?

Alex Leatherwood, OT/G, might not last time second, seems like a top 40 player or so

Andre Cisco, S, second or third rounder, 4.3 safety who produced a lot at Cuse, falls due to a knee injury

Jack Anderson, G/C, Texas Tech, mid-round guy, versatile, sleeper type

Just a few names, no one I have my heart set on

I believe it has to be somewhere on the OL, probably BPA O-Line.   It is really hard to determine because it will depend on who we sign in Free Agency.  Once we have those spots filled we can then look at what our needs are.

I do believe it is important to stock our O-line with young talent even if they aren't starters year one.

I don't think Leatherwood makes it to us in the 2nd....if he does that would be a solid pick.

I like Brown and Leatherwood, but again I don't think Brown makes it to us in the 2nd either.  If we get the QB we want and Leatherwood or Brown I'll be as happy as a fly on horse poop.

Actually Brown is rated much lower than I thought....he may well make it to the 3rd or 4th round with his ranking, but I think that his stock will rise before the draft.  We'll see....

OL - Throw as many darts at the board as you can and let's actually protect this investment on a QB. Set the foundations of a good OL in place, pray the QB we draft ends up being the guy.  The defense has some foundational pieces already, the rest can be found in FA or built over the next couple of years.

Also going to be VERY interesting FA this year.  Only a handful of teams will have big money to throw around, while another handful are going to be forced to purge salaries and cut/trade quality guys.  Short deals could be coming for a lot of guys hoping the cap recovers post Covid.  Can't imagine a lot of big deals are signed, while mid-tier guys might be forced to take less than market value.

This is from that NFL draft game someone posted a link to. I don't think these players will be available when they say they will, but this would be a ridiculously good draft imo.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 4: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A-)
Round 2 Pick 4: Liam Eichenberg, OT, Notre Dame (B+)
Round 3 Pick 4: Deonte Brown, OG, Alabama (A)
Round 4 Pick 4: Alaric Jackson, OT, Iowa (A+)
Round 5 Pick 4: Ben Brown, OG, Mississippi (A+)
Round 6 Pick 4: Keith Taylor, CB, Washington (A+)
Round 7 Pick 4: Erroll Thompson, ILB/OLB, Mississippi State (A+)

This would be a sick draft

If we take Wilson in the first, we better take another QB in the second or third rounds to cover our butts. Wilson has Jimmy Claussen written all over him.

If whoever the new GM is throws their first ever first round draft pick on a one year starter (in a COVID jimmied season) with no real competition against ranked teams (except an ass-whooping from Coastal frickin' Carolina), then you guys will be calling for that GM's head by November.

Yeah, I'm not actually on the Zach Wilson train. Just followed the premise of the thread. Here's another draft following your premise :D

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 4: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A-)
Round 2 Pick 4: Mac Jones, QB, Alabama (B-)
Round 3 Pick 4: Brock Purdy, QB, Iowa State (C+)
Round 4 Pick 4: Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati (C-)
Round 5 Pick 4: Sam Ehlinger, QB, Texas (C+)
Round 6 Pick 4: Blake Gallagher, ILB/OLB, Northwestern (A+)
Round 7 Pick 4: Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virgina Tech (A+)

That should cover our butts, lol. The fact that this site has Darrisaw available in the 7th should tell you all you need to know about it.
