What do we think of Brian Baldinger's nickname for Derrick Brown, El Toro The Bull?

I mean my opinion is the same. He will always be a good player because of his strength. Great at the point of attack. I don't think he will every impact the passing game at an elite level because that's not his game. He is a more one dimensional guy which if your not routinely getting to the passer thats expensive for a top 7 pick.

Hard to hate a guy that is dominate in one aspect of what he does so it a push for me. He's like Shaq Thompson to a degree. He isn't a bad player at all but is he the big nickel defender that was suppose to shut down tight ends? Did we over pay for shaq? Yes. Hes a starter tho.

If he collapses the pocket like he does and Burns or YGM (or any Panther for that matter) gets the sack.  Who cares about his stats.  His job in pass rush is to make sure he can't step up into the pocket.  If he gets 4 or 5 sacks a year and Burns gets 10 or 15.

One dimensional is absurd.

Pressures are subjective. The tackles for a loss are why i say he's a great run defender and great at the point of attack. Take chase young for example, pro bowl and being measured against the best of of position not just rookies, and that's what your going for with a top 10 pick. Your being drafted so high to be a position changer.... perennial pro bowler is the goal. Being measured against other rookies at the position is a hiding positional value. What if is down year for this class?

The 10 tackles for a loss are very respectable tho. With all those pressures you would think it wouldn't take til last week to hit home.  And no I'm not saying throw the guy away or he's a bust, still early and he's a force in the run game, but couldn't be doing better with 2 sacks against the same opponent? Its week 16.

Baldy needs a job with the organization, think this makes year 3 where he’s had breakdown on our players that don’t get much media attention, did a hell of a job on Burns and Jackson

For real, he’s been jerking off Burns since last year and I love it.  That’s a guy who loves him some football and I love watching his breakdowns.

the pro bowl is complete bullshit because fans are allowed to vote

you are hung up on sacks as the only stat that matters, so you picked a player that has a whopping 3.5 more than brown. At a different position.

Hes a pro bowler at his position.and thats who browns competition should be. its only 3.5 more sacks brown should be in right?

Are you asking would I rather have chase young or Chinn? Because the answer might surprise you. Quarterback is priority one getting to the quarteback and affecting his a ability to win games is number 2, after that protecting the quarterback. I'm going Young. Let's not make this about brown being a awful player he's not. He is a trench tone setter and long term tackle starter.my question is only was he worth the number 7 pick? If he plays every week like last week yes.
