What are you giving up for him? Jax will want a haul. 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year and next? If he’s that once in a generation talent, it’ll take something ridiculous.

Even that wouldn't be enough.

They would want a minimum of (3) 1st round picks.  Plus others.

It would take an insane amount of draft capital for the Jags to give up the pick. The Jets? Maybe they could have been talked into it. But the Jags GM is smart. He's not trading Trevor.

It's time for Panthers fans to face the music. The minute we signed Teddy we screwed our chances of getting Trevor.

Ah so Teddy won those 4 games for us.... oh wait... didn’t PJ win won?

And if he pulls a Eli Manning?

If he pulls a Manning I feel like we have a pretty realistic chance at him because it dramatically reduces any leverage they have. I'd love to have Trevor but not at the cost of hamstringing this franchise's ability to put a quality oline in front of him. If the reports saying Moton likely won't stay are true, and we all know Okung isnt' the long term answer at LT,  how will Lawrence fare if we have to give up the farm to get him? Yes there are 3 quality receiving targets in place, but most cap gurus are already saying it's unlikely we keep all 3 of them plus Moton long term.

I think everyone would do well to remember that when you say Lawrence is the best prospect in a decade, what you're really saying is best prospect since Luck, who was the last can't miss guy. He played in zero super bowls and retired due to health, the consequence of never having enough talent protecting him.

The first step in not being the next Luck/Colts story is not trading the farm away to get him.

I expect the Panthers to do everything they possibly can to trade up and land Trevor Lawrence.

This would be a horrific football decision.

It would cost us 3 #1s

If we could get him for this little, it would be a no-brainer. No one is giving up the most sure-fire HOF QB prospect in decades for this. This guy is Peyton Manning with 100x the athleticism.

Tepper is a long term thinker and landing the best college qb prospect in a decade is the very definition of long term thinking.

Moreover, having a Carolina kid lead this team with such built in fan support is an immediate and substantial cash cow. Can you imagine the mania and jersey sales? My word.

I feel Trevor is plan a,b, and c for these reasons.

The only way that this will make sense would be if we were to give three number one picks and the only high number one pick that really cost us is this year’s. If Trevor is that good, then perhaps we would be a playoff team in our next year. Hopefully, the next two number one picks would be high number one’s and wouldn’t matter that much anyway.  Still, this is assuming that Rhule is a great talent evaluator and can discover diamonds in the rough. The Panthers would have to be a perennial playoff team in order for this move to make any sense.

I thought he was the reason we lost.

totally and not realistic at all

Of course it is absolutely insane. I know that it is click bait to drive traffic for a few months, but I agree that it needs to be put out there.

If Tepper is actually thinking about this now, then he is late and got out tanked by Shahid Khan. If Tepper wants to trade up, then he needs to think about the number two pick and what it would take to get that one.
