Just read through 8 pages of people arguing looking for someone to ask this question.

If this is purely speculation, there's not much to talk about that hasn't already been talked about.

If someone in the know thinks Tepper might want to do something crazy, then things might get interesting.

It's not just my opinion, metrics from those seasons absolutely support it. Luck took an absolute beating behind his OL there. Honestly, very possibly contributed to his early retirement.

You mean metrics like the defense was average not poor. Using points surrendered which is the only defensive stat that ultimately matters:

Year            Indy              carolina

2012 - ranked 21st. ............18th

2013- ranked 14th. ..............2nd

2014- ranked 18th................20th

2018 ranked 8th. ..................20th

Guess who was right there with Indianapolis most years? That would be Carolina. I haven't really heard it said our defense under McDermott was bad but according to you if Indy was bad then so we're we because we were average as well.

Pretty sure it's just his opinion connecting dots. I may be wrong but I don't think Igo has had quite as much insider info on the team since Tepper bought it and the changes Tep brought, and then also especially because this year due to COVID I don't think he's able to be around the team much at all.

You are arguing with a guy who had to go "check Luck's stats" to see if he was a good player or not, but he clearly remembers the Colt's offensive line being better than Cam's...because.

Luck was a great prospect, better one than Cam, and the Colts and bad luck ruined him.  The same could happen to Trevor in Jax, or possibly here, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a great prospect, he simply is, and IMO, I prefer him over Luck when he was coming out.

That is true before I talk out of my ass like you I actually try and confirm a few things. Unlike you, I don't throw around a bunch of opinions with little or no fact. You should try it, you might actually be right every now and then . Like the post on defensive comparison between Indy and the Panthers.

Tepper should’ve considered this before signing Teddy and Robby Anderson. Lawrence has been the most sought after prospect for years now. We would’ve had a legitimate shot at the #1 pick if it wasn’t for those off-season moves.

Tepper knows like most football fans, tanking doesn't always work and just because he is a sought after prospect doesn't make him a guaranteed success.

It's probably not realistic, but I think we do make a Godfather offer and try.

Honestly, if you had the unrealistic chance to get Kyler/Russell/Mahomes/Allen right now the price would be what, 3+ firsts? 5+ for Mahomes?  If you think Trevor is THAT good and that sure of a thing, the high price is worth it. Factor in the contract and you still have flexibility in FA at least going forward.

The sticker shock on what we would offer would make everyone here cry, but I also think Tepper might be willing to gamble and make the huge splash.  If he has confidence in Rhule coaching up JAGs and rolling with the few foundational pieces we already have, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that Tepper says screw it, and trades our entire draft or multiple 1sts to move up.  If only we had a couple extra comp picks right now (thanks Hurney), a price of our high 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd in 2021, next year's 1st and 2nd might do it and still leave us with a few mid rounders to grab some depth. It's going to be a massive haul, but if we fully believe Trevor is the answer...do it.

I know Lawrence is at Clemson, but he is not a “Carolina kid.”  Hes a Georgia kid who is idolized in football circles throughout the state.  we should be more concerned about the Falcons making a play for him

they basically can't. from the perspective of contracts, they're in a position where they have to win now with ryan and jones.

While I get the Falcons needing a QB, their cap situation and Ryan's contract won't allow this.  They realistically have Ryan for 2 more years on an already cap strapped team.  They can't take a QB, and make Ryan a 40 million dollar backup if they have any dreams of competing for the next 3-4 years, which would essentially waste Trevor's entire rookie deal.
