Just doesn’t add up. The first half of the year the defense was horrendous. And the oline, aside from Moton, cannot finish games. Going back and watching you can see they’re non existent in the second half, especially the 4th quarter. Going by rankings of teams (other than QB spot) by previous years, nothing statistically says this team is a playoff contender, even with a QB. Lastly if we we able to pull out 3 more wins with a better QB we’d still be sitting at 8-8. Even 4 or 5 games...wouldn’t of got us in the playoffs.

I think this team needs much more than a QB to be competitive including immeasurable things like experience.

If a player, especially a QB, no longer wants to play for your organization, you’re crazy if you think you can afford that distraction for the next four years. They will take the best offer and move on. Saying they won’t trade him is just meant to increase the asking price

I'd love to bring him in but how the fug would we protect him ? We'd have to give away a bunch of high picks we could've used for oline. Wed have to pay him a shitton of money . So now could we afford quality oline ? 

Very serious questions. You have to remind yourself youre inserting him into an incomplete rebuilding roster . What use is it to sign him if we can't protect him ??

All those picks we trade for him would fug up our ability to support put a good team around him for years potentially 

Our best option is to hang on to pick 8 and draft whatever QB drops to 8. If one of the top 4 don't drop somehow, then you concentrate on rebuilding the oline and get a QB in 2022

That's a hard pill to swallow for alot of Panthers fans but it may be the most likely senario.

Three firsts is a steep price, but I'd do it for a guy like Mahomes, Watson, or Russell Wilson. Elite QBs with long enough track records to be confident in what you're getting (so not a guy like Josh Allen even though he's be excellent this year or Lamar Jackson who is also great but has regressed a bit this year) and still have a lot of years left (so not Aaron Rodgers, even though he's been the best QB in football this year).  I would not trade three firsts, three seconds, and possibly more like I saw leaked as a potential starting point from the Texans since they basically have no desire to trade Watson.

what do you think the record of our 2015 15-1 team would have been with a QB like Teddy Bridgewater?   I'd wager we would have been below .500.

This team had the skill position players for Watson to win.  A scared to throw Teddy was in practically every game this season.  I just see the math different than you I guess.
