Rhule may have had a part in this

And another thing....

I think a lot of QBs bust because they are not right for the system.  The team drafts a QB and tries to build around him, but the philosophies and experiences are not valid.  Coaches leave, etc.  Here, we know what skill sets we need at each position...We are getting there.

Tepper did also acknowledge that the possibility of firing Marty did cross his mind this time last year. It's valid to note though that it would have been tougher to replace both coach and GM in the same offseason.

Starting to sound like Tepper's level of respect for Marty might have been overblown.

Considering how Tepper describes how he wants the process to work, I can definitely see why Hurney wouldn't work out.  Hurney has been here forever and probably feels like he's earned his stripes here...and he's got 2 new guys (owner and HC) telling him to fall in line.

It reminds me of when one company buys out another company.  The people that have been with the company for decades have a really hard time adjusting to new management and a new way of doing things...so they get purged.

Rhule is a yes man. So I wouldnt put a lot of stock in anything he says.

Because a real man would tell the guy writing his 60m paycheck to suck his dick.

Tepper knows he doesn't know how to coach a football team so he brought on someone who can with a proven record of doing it his way. You cant be smarter than everyone in the building. Tepper is going to let Rhule do what he hired him to do.

One more fun fact...

Both times Marty Hurney has been fired, he agreed with it.

Back in 2012, Hurney was reported to have fallen on the sword in order to save head coach Ron Rivera because Richardson wanted to fire him. And today, David Tepper stated that Hurney agreed their split was "best for both parties".

From Marty's perspective, that could mean that the timing gives him a chance to latch on in Washington, or it could just be he's come to realize that he and head coach Matt Rhule just see things differently.

So as odd as it sounds, Marty was on board with his own dismissal...twice.

And for the record, I was in agreement with both firings as well.

What would you expect the public narrative of this to be??
