Lol just because you are rich doesn't mean it doesn't suck to lose your job... especially on the week of Christmas

I'm not saying I feel bad for him.  And obviously, business is business and everyone in the NFL knows they can be fired whenever.  But losing your job still sucks.

It is pretty savage to fire someone on the week of Christmas.  I do wonder what triggered the move now, because I'm still pretty confident that this was going to happen all along.  Tepper just wanted more time to wait for ideal candidates.

I do wonder who pushed for Teddy the most.  A lot of people say it was Brady or Rhule, but I'm not 100% convinced of that.  Not saying they didn't have input, as I'm SURE they did, but it also wouldn't surprise me if Hurney was the guy pushing for it the most.  He had far bigger of an incentive for this team to have success in 2020 than they did.

Im sure he has another paycheck on the way before friday

If you are struggling to make ends meet, its savage.  I don't think Hurney is going to be struggling to buy gifts for the kids now and he isn't facing eviction.  He had to know he was living on borrowed time anyway.

Marty was never living it up as a big shot GM.  He lives in my old neighborhood in a very unassuming 500k house.  After 30 years in the NFL, I am sure he will be OK...and he is already at retirement age.  Go ride into the sunset and enjoy the money you have made.

I've loved many of Marty's first round picks over the years, and some of his later round picks as well. Ultimately we have not won enough games over the years to justify keeping Marty as our GM. Nice guy, some great picks, but we're not winning enough, and a lot of that falls on him. Hope he has a great life.
