Which part? It's a fact that he's slightly faster.

As for the comparison, Lance is being compared to Watson by a lot of scouts. I've even seen Andrew Luck...but I don't like that one as much.

His only 40 time on record is a 4.8 or 4.9 and he can’t sling it like Watson.

How is it a fact he is faster?

The neat thing about speed is that it can be literally measured.

Watson ran a 4.67 40 yard dash.

Lance has run a verified 4.60 40 yard dash.

Could things change at the combine? Sure! But as of right now, it's pretty easy to say with confidence that he's slightly faster than Watson. Especially if you've watched his highlights. Sure, the competition is second-rate, but still, he looks like Mike Vick on Madden out there. Oh, and remember the fact that this guy simply does not throw interceptions. 2019 and 2020, he has a 30-1 TD/INT ratio.

I'm sincerely starting to wonder if you're thinking about someone else.

It's the first thing you see on google if you look up Trey Lance 40 time. He has a 4.60 time on record. Sure, it's 247, but where did you get that about the 4.8/4.9?

Watson’s 40 was clocked at the NFL combine.  It’s legit.

Where and when was Lance clocked at 4.6.   Lot of different times on Lance.  ESPN has him at 4.9 for example.

The amount he runs to me is a red flag.  Only 4 games over 200 yards passing.  As I mentioned, Watson would look a lot faster running against Butler than Bama.   He doesn’t look that special running.  I think he is one of the those guys that probably should of be playing at NC State vs a ND State.  I don’t want to spend a top 5 pick on a guy who can run like Watson and throw like Cam.

He could be legit.  Just don’t like there is such a limited body of work on him and it is vs that level of competition.  Leaves a lot unknown IMO.

Stop watch 40 times are not in fact the same as the combine.... he's probably a 4.75-4.8 guy.

Fields - as stated Before doesn’t read defenses when he plays better competition in the knock  on him as he holds onto the ball too long that’s not what we need

Wilson - Probably my top choice strong arm can make all the throws and accurate

trey lance- Probably has the best feet movement out of any quarterback in this draft in his system he asked to run a lot. But like Wilson he can make all the throws and is deadly accurate on the run

so I would probably rank these quarterbacks as

1 Wilson 2 lance then fields I would take jones before fields

I followed the thinking up until the Jones part. It went totally off the rails there.

Fields is the second best QB but certainly not perfect.  He needs time to develop to a pro offense but his accuracy is very impressive IMO.  Somewhat of a slow delivery in his throwing motion is a concern.

Wilson is tricky with his limited experience and had surgery on his throwing shoulder.  Good arm but not great.  Not very accurate at times either and level of comp this year was laughable.

Lance cant throw the ball with accuracy right now.  No way in hell he survives taking off and running in this league for long.  He is extremely raw.  Level of comp has been laughable as well.

Trask is getting better but is he a franchise guy?  Very questionable.

Jones is a career backup at best that you pray doesn't have to play.

Honestly though, very big risk with all these guys and they could all end up being very average.

Very close but as a solid pocket passer something we need and something that will always be better than a mobile qb I’m going with  Mac jones , he makes amazing throws , 2nd I’m going with trask ! 3 rd if we’re picking mobile qbs lance is the best one , 4 Zach Wilson , he could be the next rodgers , Alex smith or jimmy clausen , 5th is fields , fields will be no better than jimmy clausen , I think that man straight up sucks hoping the jets pick him because he is garbage . Very close pick between trask and Mac jones but Mac jones looks like he’s the better choice

I’d bet you money that Fields has a career that resembles absolutely nothing like Jimmy Clausen. It’s hard to know if you are trolling or not when you are putting Mac Jones and Kyle Trask above all the others.

Fields has a lot of qualities everybody liked in Cam. Great runner when he needs to scramble. His questions are on his decision making against good defenses. Go watch his tape against Indiana and Northwestern and his passing struggled. If you believe he can be coached up on the decision making absolutely take him.
