I’m sure the combine will do some separation and coaches review of tape tells all.  Then again, our coaches brought Bridgewater

I’ve seen a lot of Wilson.  You have to remember his level of competition is not the strongest and neither is his frame

he doesn’t exactly light it up under pressure either if, and when it came, from the likes of Troy

the nfl is a man’s game, not a boy’s and Zack strikes me as a boy who would struggle with pressure, have trouble taking the punishment and not sure how he would do under a true spotlight and byu hasn’t been playing a tough conference for quite awhile

he can make all throws. He appears to have football intelligence but again, he has time to make those throws

he does well throwing and rolling and I dint think the panthers have ever had that in the offense

is that enough?  I don’t know. And frankly he looks too much like clausen for me

Is it weird that the look-a-like aspect of it holds merit?  He legit makes me nervous but then I'll see his stuff and I'm pretty impressed.

In a weird way, I feel really good about Trask but hate that he's not mobile.  He makes up for it in getting the ball away when he needs to but I totally get people's trepidation. Lance has tremendous upside, but Fields just seems like the fit to me.  I'd trade to ensure him.

We’d be trading with the Jets now to get them to drop two spots. Seems doable.

I’m surprised Fields is leading this poll and even more shocked that Lance is second. Even more blown away that Trask is currently third. Not surprised in the slightest that Jones has no votes.

Yup, I feel like i've been seeing Wilson's name all over the place the last few weeks. Maybe his supporters are just more vocal.

Another question to add to this exercise. Last year it was talked about how smart Herbert was in school and how high his grades were in a difficult major. Can't think of it and I'm sure someone else will know. Which of these QBs has the highest IQ and in what major? I'm not saying this will be the deciding factor but would be interesting to know and compare.

Looked it up. All typical Jock majors.

Wilson - construction management.

Fields - PE

Trask - sports management

Lance - communications

I don't care about a guy's grades or his IQ. Book smarts don't necessarily equal football intelligence. Once that ball is snapped it's all instinct. If you're thinking at that point you're too slow.

I'm not saying base a decision solely on IQ. It does have a factor of understanding the game with preparation and being able to retain what is being shown by coaches. I agree instincts kick in during gametime

Jets dropping to 2 is definitely an interesting wrinkle. In theory, they might not love any of the prospects after Lawrence and decide to add Sewell or Chase to help Darnold and see if things finally click with a better offense and new regime. Then Cincinatti will surely pick a non-qb, potentially leaving us with our choice of qb. Lots of ifs and more likely than not, I still think the Jets take a qb because Darnold hasn't show anything special and a new coach/gm is likely to want to handpick their next franchise qb. But it's more in play now than it was when the Jets had the 1st pick.

You don't over think this one, Fields is a no brainer #2 behind Trevor. Lance/Wilson a toss up then Trask/Jones late 1st and not in the discussion for us

I'm curious to why he is a no brainer.  I'll be honest I haven't seen much of any of them.

The little bit I saw of Wilson impressed me.  He seems to have that ability to see throws, certain guys try throws that others might not even attempt, he seems to have that ability.

    • Players Tribune I think about the playoff losses a lot. It hurt then, and it hurts now. Each one of them stays with me. It stays with us. We have scar tissue. That’s the honest truth. There’s no point in lying about it. It’s there. And it’s a part of who this team is, of who we’re going to be. And I’m thinking about it now, not because I’m taking the regular season for granted, or because we’re already thinking ahead. It’s actually the opposite of that. This year's team, we don’t want to just be talented, or a tight group, we want to have a real identity. Something that we can rely on, no matter what happens during a month, or game, or series. Something that we know is us — something that is true to Hurricane hockey, through and through. Just published, reading it now...
    • Come on, we all know if Rod had any real power here, Burns would be playing 1C...
    • Need to see this top line stick together for a while. If we are gonna make a run in the playoffs, we need those 3 guys playing with chemistry. Let RBA move Jarvy around like the Swiss army knife that he is to fulfill his line chopping tendencies. Double, hell, triple shift him if you're feeling cute, Rod. The kid can handle it. I'd love to see all 4 of those guys getting 23+ minutes a game!
