Fields has a lot of qualities everybody liked in Cam. Great runner when he needs to scramble. His questions are on his decision making against good defenses. Go watch his tape against Indiana and Northwestern and his passing struggled. If you believe he can be coached up on the decision making absolutely take him.

Against inferior talent he is masterful but against really  good defenses he struggles.  It will only get worse in the NFL as most defense are far better than any college team.  I hope we pass on him.

Is this the same analysis people had when Lawrence had a stretch of like 6 or 7 interceptions in like 4 games last year? Struggles against even inferior defenses?

You could see this narrative forming a mile away, with Wilson overtaking Fields in the minds of some scouts and tons of detractors popping up all of a sudden. Classic draft talk. No crystal ball here but I trust the Jets to pick the bad qb leaving us with the good one if this truly is an either/or situation with Fields and Wilson lol

I like Wilson, he’s seems like the most gifted passer of the remaining QBs, he has a lot Rodgers in him.

OSU scare me, they run a very qb friendly system

Some QBs can make all of the throws, but then some QBs have something else on top of that.

They have this ability to "see" throws, they see a guy that is open that another QB might not even try.  You see that with Rodgers, you see that with Mahomes, Farve was like that as well.  They have the ability to use velocity, or touch, different trajectories. They seem to know where everyone is on the field.  When everyone seems covered to a normal QB they still find ways to complete passes.

Any QB looks good if their 1st read is open....

Perfect

only thing I would add is ‘under pressure’.

In the NFL, THE BEST QBs are masters at moving in that pocket under pressure and having the ability to roll and throw when needed into a four inch sq or they can throw their receivers open

There seems to be a lot of buzz around Wilson being qb #2. Not sure what is the deal with Fields dropping after being the clear consensus #2 prize up until about a couple weeks ago. Does remind me a bit of Haskins, as another OSU qb, who was supposed to compete with Kyler Murray as the top qb for most of that year, then by draft day he ends up the 3rd qb taken in the middle of the 1st and has been terribly underwhelming as a pro. I know they're not the same type of player but you do have to worry about the parallels.

I said it once and I'll say it again Wilson is going to be a major bust, the Great White Hype- his season seems "manufactured"- he never gets pressured, I mean all the highlights he has there's not a defender within 10 yards of him and if there is one defender within 5 yards he takes off running. The NFL going is to eat this kid alive. I pray we don't draft him, at first I said I would still root for him if we did but I take that back, I would just wait until he sucks so bad we start PJ Walker. Even Teddy hasn't been that bad.

Fields is my choice,  he's not some 1 season wonder, I really don't want him to beat Lawrence in the sugar bowl which is why he will, then his stock will rise and someone else might grab him. He's been in  competition with Lawrence his whole college career and I can see it only growing more intense throughout their NFL careers.

Lance, just so I can say Sir Lancelot, like Wilson one season is not enough but he has that "IT" factor. 42 TDs and 0 ints. I mean if you going take a risk his ceiling is to high not to. He did that under pressure also. Just look at his highlights there are times when the play looks broken and he makes plays with his feet behind the line and still throws downfield. He reminds me of Russell Wilson supersized.

Fields is a dream but Lance is more realistic.

Also Fields is a bad decision maker against better defenses. Watch his games.

Name a successful Ohio State QB in the NFL--ever.

Fields could be the best, but they put up great numbers in Columbus and they bust.  I am so scared of Fields being the next Haskins.

The more I watch videos, the more I like Lance.

I think you and Fields' family might be the only people alive who think he's in competition with Lawrence. Lawrence has always been considered the better player and prospect. That's not a knock on Lawrence, that's just the truth. And what's happened with Fields' stock this year is that he's looked pretty terrible against the two good teams he's faced. If that continues in the playoffs, he could find himself the #4 QB. If Trask and/or Jones surprise in the pre-draft process while he struggles he could potentially go even lower than that. Personally, I hope he turns it around in the playoffs.

Wilson gets a lot of stick for playing against lesser competition.  I would triple caution anyone who does that to consider that Lance played an entire division lower.  The best competition Lance faced probably falls somewhere near the worst competition Wilson or Fields faced.

Just for reference, here's every starting QB this year . . . not one from the FCS.
