Can't We Not Find a Better Center?

Zeller is horrible. I have no idea how he is a starter. Hevis weak and gets pushed around like crazy. If we had a good center we would be set. That is our major weakness. Wish we could have seen more of Richards and Carey Jr in the preseason. I would hope we would look to find a center at some point this season to make this a more complete team. Tired of getting killed on the boards

Yeah, I was actually looking at the NBA trade machine last night trying to come up with a trade that would work.  Andre Drummond would fix that pretty quick but they would have to take back Zeller and Rozier plus it would cost us a first probably as well.  Also, he is a FA after this season so it would be a rental.  Probably better to play out the season and make a run at a center in the offseason.  However, Drummond is going to be very expensive in FA.

Also, doubt Cleveland trades for Rozier anyway as they have a lot of young guards.  We are probably stuck with what we have for now.

This is why I was all in for Wiseman - our 2 biggest problems were playmaking and rebounding/rim protection. I feel like we got playmakers all over the court now [Graham, Terry, Hayward, Ball and even Monk can create his own shot]. The bigs we have are all subpar. Zeller/Biz are both bench role players and the rooks are no where near ready to contribute on a regular basis.

But I think we just stick it out for another year and draft a legit Big. We will need Zeller's $ coming off the books next year to retain Graham and Monk.. if Monk has another subpar year - maybe we let him walk and then use the extra funds for Bridges/PJ or a new Center in FA.. but I don't think shipping Zeller and Terry away is the answer. I really like what Terry brings to our squad and he seems to be happy here.

Baynes would have been perfect for this team. Plus, Hayward wouldn't have run into him.  It is going to take all 5 to rebound. Hayward is pretty good. That is how I think Melo earns more PT.  Defensive rebounding.  Need to rebound to run. Melo, rozier or graham, hayward, Washington and zeller should rebound a little better.  Mid 20s for defensive rebounding would be good.  Cant finish 30th again.

Well now Zeller has a fractured hand so things are looking really bad in the front court.

It was going to be bad regardless.  Borrego needs to let the young bigs play and lets see what they’ve got.  No choice really.  Doubt this all comes together this season but next offseason we could look much better.

Zeller could prob block more shots if he just used those big ass ears of his.
