Where is Kyle Trask ranked in this year's draft? He's looked good tonight.

I mean your tactics of insulting me to dodge the Clausen and Bridgewater question is quite cute.

I get the point of the question. The one suggestion I might make though is that if you want to make the point that experts can be wrong, it's probably more effective to use somebody other than Marty Hurney as your example.

Ozzie Newsome was one of the best drafters in the league, but he still drafted Kyle Boller.

I rattled off a list of players earlier. Blaine Gabbert anyone?

Also TB was a Vikings pick which you know wasnt Big Hurn.

I'm of the thought that if you aren't comfortable drafting a guy at 4 but feel better drafting him later in the 1st or early 2nd, especially at QB, then you don't take that guy at all.  If you feel he's your guy, you would take him as early as you can, and if you're not sure he's that guy, you just don't take him.  Guys like Trask, Wilson, and Jones seem like those type of guys to me, which is what makes me rather avoid them.

I don't agree with the thought process that if you're not comfortable taking him at #4, but you'd be comfortable taking him in the 2nd round then he's not the guy for you. Messing up a Top 5 pick sets you back massively as a franchise. If he's turns out to even be a middling NFL starter (which is obviously much more difficult than you'd think) you've probably missed out on a couple of All Pros by reaching.

I've not done a deep dive on any prospect this year - I might do if I get bored enough. That said, nobody outside of Lawrence makes you think they're an unbelievable prospect - there's a lot of projection with Wilson, Fields and Lance.

If I'm the GM and I have the #4 overall pick with THIS roster. First of all I see if anyone wants to trade up - we need as much Draft capital as possible. If nobody trades, take the best player on the board.

I personally think you should always carry 3 QBs on the roster and you should draft one every other year. Bridgewater isn't the guy to make us  consistent playoff contender, but that doesn't mean you need to gamble our future away.

So if someone said you could take a difference maker at #4 at LT / LB / CB etc and then you could gamble on a winner who's got a few question marks about them at the top of the second round (Trask / Ridder), I'm all over that.

Bridgewater was picked by Rick Spielman. On the whole, Spielman can be hit or miss but he's generally above average.

It is, however, fair to point out that Spielman didn't sign Bridgewater to a 63 million dollar contract.

Cousins deal wasnt so hot either. But was better.

But I got it...when you guys say "experts" you only mean Ravens, Saints, Patriots, or Steelers brass.

Eeeehhh, the Patriots are kinda hit and miss when it comes to drafting.  The Saints, Ravens and Steelers are all pretty solid though.

Analysts are a mixed bag. There are some pretty good ones, others that aren't so great, but it's fair to say that they do this all the time and have access to a lot more information than we do.

They get to talk to the prospects and have coaches angles. Thats about it. You really cant learn much in a pre draft interview as all the prospects are coached on that.

Fyi I have a good friend name David Patten who played wr for the Pats for a long time and has 3 rings.  I remember him telling me that Bledsoe threw a better ball then Brady...but who would you take?

I put a higher priority on accuracy, intelligence and field vision than I do on arm strength or anything physical, so Brady easily.

I remember Patten.
