Lol, most likely, but you never know.

Scenario for you. Final game of the regular season, Jets are 0-15 with the Jaguars sitting at 1-14. If the Jets slip up and win, they lose out on Trevor.

Now, look at the final week opponent of the Jets. None other than Bill Belicheck and the Patriots. The Patriots will be eliminated at that point. Losing that game keeps Trevor out of the Patriots AFC East division. Belicheck is one of those guys, like Sean Payton, who will purposely lose that game to benefit himself longterm. Bill is smarter than Gase and the Jets, so he will "out lose" them in that game.

Crazy things happen in the NFL.

There was a game some years back where the two worst teams in the league were playing each other with the number one pick at stake. I remember thinking that could have been high comedy.

Definitely a thing that could happen. Putting Cam Newton at QB would definitely make it happen as well.

Julio will not play this weekend for the Falcons.  I don't know about the SOS between us and the Falcons if we both lose out, but shouldn't we get the higher pick since they beat us twice?

We beat them once so it would go to div record and they have more wins so we would be ahead.

that's right, that was the game that got their coach and gm fired.  Good times

That’s not how draft pick tiebreakers work. Head to head and conference/division records don’t matter. It’s based on who has the worst SOS. Meaning that if two teams finish 4-12 the team who played the easier schedule gets the better pick because it’s assumed that they are the worse team. If the SOS is identical, which does happen, there is a coin flip.

We just need Dallas and Atlanta to just win as we lose the tiebreaker to Dallas and we don’t know about Atlanta.

Wrong, if the teams are in the same division their division record is also used as well as sos. SOS isn't the sole decision maker.

It goes like this.

1. SOS

2. Division record

3. Conference record

4. Coin flip

That's exactly how it works.
