Looking at if the Jets were to win a game, and Jaguars lose out. Jaguars take Lawrence with pick 1.  Would the Jets take Fields or stick with Darnold?  Going ftom Lawrence to Fields could be a game changer. Maybe they would rather give Darnold a chance with a new coach and fill many other needs

Great point. I actually haven't thought about this and i have tossed a bunch of scenarios around.

2018

2018 - Mayfield, Darnold, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen. Another one went at the end of the first round, some kid named Lamar Jackson.

2021 - Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance. Then maybe Trask/Jones/Newman sneaks into the end of Round 1.

Three out of five hit (Mayfield, Allen, Jackson). One is iffy (Darnold). One busted (Rosen).

Darnold looks pretty close to a bust but in his defense his supporting cast has been utterly atrocious and he has the worst HC in the NFL who made Tannehill look like trash too.

I sometimes question Darnold's decision making . . . but I *always* question his coaching.  His decision making isn't like Jameis Winston bad, for sure.

Like I mentioned, some "talking heads" think Fields will drop.  His big competitive game, with Indiana, found him w 3 INT's.

Top 2 guys in this draft will be Lawrence and Sewell.  So Jax or Carolina, whomever is at 4 might have the choice of Fields or Wilson.  Some people have Wilson going at 2 now if Jax sticks there

1 pick was bad he just didnt see the safety or saw the safety and thought he could rocket it in there.  Typical INT

1 was thrown high and tipped up by the wr

1 was a total wtf are you doing here dude

The only shot they have is the Texans, they aren't beating the Steelers or Ravens. I just can't see them beating anyone without Burrow.

Huh?  You are talking Bengals schedule, I am talking the Jets winning a game to give the Jaguars the 1st pick.

This is where I feel the idea went wrong

Lol, most likely, but you never know.

Scenario for you. Final game of the regular season, Jets are 0-15 with the Jaguars sitting at 1-14. If the Jets slip up and win, they lose out on Trevor.

Now, look at the final week opponent of the Jets. None other than Bill Belicheck and the Patriots. The Patriots will be eliminated at that point. Losing that game keeps Trevor out of the Patriots AFC East division. Belicheck is one of those guys, like Sean Payton, who will purposely lose that game to benefit himself longterm. Bill is smarter than Gase and the Jets, so he will "out lose" them in that game.

It's not the craziest thing I've ever heard
