For all you tankers out there...we are now sitting at #5

I guess my question would be the motivation for "someone" to get to #2 if not to get Fields?  I know the draft can be bat (*&@ crazy, but if you're Jacksonville sitting at 2 and someone calls you wanting that slot the question becomes how far are you willing to go back?  They know they need a QB . . . and so does everyone else.  Of all the teams currently in the top 10 of the draft, only Cincy and the Chargers really strike me was "completely out" on a QB.  Maybe Miami, but early returns on Tua haven't been great so maybe they aren't sold.

If for some reason the Panthers are sitting at four or five, and by the grace of God or some alignment of the planets Fields somehow drops that low, I couldn't get to the podium fast enough to turn in that card.

Like I mentioned, some "talking heads" think Fields will drop.  His big competitive game, with Indiana, found him w 3 INT's.

Top 2 guys in this draft will be Lawrence and Sewell.  So Jax or Carolina, whomever is at 4 might have the choice of Fields or Wilson.  Some people have Wilson going at 2 now if Jax sticks there

As things stand right now, I see Wilson going ahead of fields.

Wilson just seems like the kind of QB Jax will fall in love with.

I really think we have a good shot at Fields.

Run.  To.  The.  Podium.

I like Wilson a lot, think he will be good.  But Fields man.  I wouldn't dream we ever had a shot at him from four or five.

The real meltdown comes if Dallas takes a QB.  I'd say it's unlikely, but man, with that team who ever knows?  UFA franchise QB coming off a huge injury.  Crazy.

Cincy staying put at 3 to take Sewell is the only situation a feel good about a team staying put and taking a non-QB.  Pretty much everyone else in the bottom 10 is a candidate to take a QB or to trade down.

At 5 we could easily end up with QB4.  There are a lot really bad teams this year with really bad QB situations and a good group of QB prospects.  QBs are going to go often and early this year.

I could easily see Dallas trading down at 4, if they don't do something crazy like take a QB themselves.  They will probably lend up with multiple offers for that spot, I expect they would get a premium for it.

I could see us trading up with them.  A lot of us would be happy with any of the "big 4 QBs" but teams a lot of times will fall in love with certain ones.

Lets say we really like Wilson over Lance and the Dallas pick is up.  We might be so nervous someone is going to trade up to take Wilson that we are willing to trade up to insure we get the one we like the most.

This is why I'm really hoping we end up 4th, and Cincy is 3rd.  Best chance for us to get QB3 without spending draft capital.

The Lions are reportedly moving on from Stafford after this season.  Atlanta could be looking for a transition to a new QB and likes their spot this year to do it.  Pats will be on the market for a trade up.

We are fortunate that there are 4 quality options and 2-3 outliers (Trask, Jones, Newman) at the position.

And don't worry---Marty's on the job.

Hell, give me a 32 year old Stafford and draft a stud LT or Ja'marr Chase rather than roll the dice on the 3rd or 4th QB in the draft.

There are a lot of teams in the mid-1st who could consider making a jump up for a QB. Lions, Niners, Broncos, Bears, Pats, you can never rule out Gruden doing something crazy since he's basically a better version of Lane Kiffin.

Jets, Jags, Falcons, Cowboys, 49ers, Broncos, Lions, Patriots, Bears, Washington, Giants,

all teams that you could make an argument would take a QB, some more than others of course

What if Eagles found a trade partner for Wentz, maybe they give up a pick to convince someone to take him, are they committed to Hurts?  Unlikely to happen but crazier things can happen.

This year feels a little different, there are always a group of teams looking for QB, but this year seems like more of them.  We are seeing the end of this older generation of franchise QBs such as Stafford and Ryan so teams like the Falcons and Lions and Patriots are in play for QBs.

Not only do I see the top 4 QBs going early but I don't think you can wait until the 2nd to get someone like Jones or Trask.

If the Lions move on from Stafford, I see Belicheck making him a Patriot. Bill and Stafford could have a 5 year run and retire together.

Yeah, if they move on from Stafford he'll be a hot commodity. I honestly hope they do. I'd like to see Stafford get a legit chance somewhere else before he's past it.

really need the Falcons to steal one more game this year. TB has put up some clunkers hopefully they have one more in them

Falcons at home this week, you never know.

Also, maybe Tampa clinches a playoff spot and rest starters week 17 allowing the Falcons to win. Kinda like the Saints done to us
