And when he had a chance to win with the ball in his hands, did he.

Teddy is a prime example of why the W-L records of QBs can be misleading. Those Vikings and Saints rosters were elite. They weren't winning because of Teddy, Teddy was just along for the ride.

Saints we're pretty darn good, but "elite" should be preserved for standouts. The Vikings certainly weren't elite!

13-3 is elite. Don't let the hatred of a division rival make you miss the forest for the trees. Here they are winning most of their games with a backup QB again this year. That's an elite overall roster.

The Vikings had one of the top defenses in the league and one of the top rushing attacks in the league during Teddy's years. QB was their weakness.

Now several months ago, I linked you an article about the Vikings' weaknesses on offense. Their O-line left a lot to be desired, and the receivers weren't doing him any favors! QB wasn't really their weakness.

fug the Saints!

No roster is going to be perfect. They're all going to have their weaknesses. We fielded a dominant offense with Mike Remmers and Michael Oher at OT and Ted Ginn Jr. as the #1 WR. A franchise QB can make up for a lot of flaws on the offensive side of the ball.

During Teddy's second season, the doubled down on trying to build around him. They drafted Stefon Diggs. They signed Mike Wallace (who as a deep threat had the worst season of his career with Teddy as his QB). Teddy just wasn't it.
