I think this round of pre-draft interviews is going to really important to see who's going to shine as the #3 QB. I think that Wilson may catapult himself as the #2, but that's yet to be seen by the NFL draft community.

Its hard to not to tak notice when scouts compare his arm to Mahomes after doing some deep dives on his film this year.

I don’t know

I’ve watched every game of his this year.

The competition leaves a bit to be desired

he seems slight of frame and has trouble with pressure

maybe it’s the under armor headband that makes him resemble Clausen or that his frame resembles Teddys

just can’t buy him   I want to. I just can’t

let’s face it. BYU in a normal year doesn’t have a hard schedule.  This year, it seems barely Div 1

Here’s a note on Wilson’s injuries. Sounds like he injured his shoulder in high school and then had a hand injury. Doesn’t sound like “injury prone” to me:

After his freshman season, Wilson would undergo shoulder surgery for a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. He had dealt with it since high school, but it progressively worsened over time during his freshman season. Nonetheless, he was ready to take the field healthy for his sophomore campaign as the starter. In that Sophomore campaign, it was a rough go of things. He only had 11 touchdowns to nine interceptions and was plagued by a right-hand injury that he had to have surgery on. Essentially, it became a throwaway year for the promising quarterback.

Spot on! Almost exactly how I evaluated except I've got Trask ahead of Wilson.

He's got Lance as the best smaller program prospect 3rd best QB. Right on that one.

 Kyle Trask, Florida

Comparison: Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams

Fits: Indianapolis Colts, Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons

Best Traits: Field vision, processing speed, accuracy, football IQ, NFL readiness

Biggest Questions: Lack of mobility, average arm strength

Scout's Take: "Very scheme-specific player. Can win from the pocket and has a good arm. Best asset is his vision and putting the ball in a spot his guys can make a play on it. Lack of mobility is going to be the biggest knock." — Former NFL general manager

If he can maneuver in the pocket and can make the deep throw I would be ok with him.  I don't think we need a RPO quarterback with the weapons we have.  If he can run our offense and get the ball downfield than IMO he's a viable candidate.

Some of these top guys seems to be accurate but not deep throw ability. After TB, are we wanting to draft a player that doesnt throw deep?

There's a difference between can't and won't. You don't need a laser rocket arm to throw it past the sticks on 4th and 8. I'd rather a guy with more confidence than talent than the other way around.

Dual threat is great but a high iq, high processing QB picking apart defenses getting the ball out to his talent is what has been winning in the NFL.

I've never been on the Wilson stuff. I've been trying to figure out who is 3rd best QB between Lance/Trask. That's a tough choice if you're looking for a franchise QB.

I think Trask has the higher chance not busting because his strengths transfer over to the NFL very well.

If Lance and Fields try to run in the NFL they're going to find it more difficult. Bigger, stronger, faster. That cannon that Lance has will be facing the best defensive backs in the business so you have to judge all these guys on playing QB alone.

That's what puts Trask at #3 rated QB for me. To me Lance is just that all out Cam type a team with not much else could rely on. I don't think we're THAT team right now. Especially not with Joe Brady. People say Trask is processing and delivering on a young Drew Brees level. If so, I'll take that over hoping Lance turns out to be a better Cam.

Tough decisions. Especially if Fields falls.
