Teddy will take us to 8-8ish as the roster improves. Then we have to wait multiple seasons to accumulate enough talent to have a one shot "magic season" where the high level of talent on the roster drags Teddy deep into the playoffs.

OR

We land a superstar franchise QB and we have a shot at the SB most seasons during his reign.

OR

We whiff on our QB pick and he leads us to a terrible record.

AND

We draft another QB.

If it's up to me we draft a QB, and let the chips fall where they may. I already know what's going to happen in the Teddy scenario, and that's not good enough anymore.

This is mostly correct but you forgot something

The magical run happens in Bridgewater's contract season and nets him the big extension

I just think we will reach at QB at our current draft position...when we could take a real game changer.

When was the last time a QB who was cut by his former team for poor play worked out?

The thing about Cam was his sheer size and speed combination, and he was a decent passer. I had never seen a player like Cam before in college or the pros. It was like seeing Lebron James for the first time, and you're wondering how the teams gigantic center can bringing the ball up the court and slash to the basket. Same thing with Cam, how can he be that big and move that fast, and throw the ball as well. The NFL had never seen a Cam before, and I though we might win the SB under his rookie contract before teams figured out how to stop him, or he got injured. Derrick Henry is a freak of nature, but he's not totally unique and unknown to the NFL. Cam had that, and we pissed it away.

And that extension is part of the reason some key players leave in free agency, and we never sniff another magic season under Teddy. Hell by that point our old Huddle members will be dead having never seen the Panthers win the SB.

Jamie Newman didn't even play last year. How can you possibly recommend him?

What does that have to do with his ability to play QB? If our scouts like him and he looks good in the combine, I wouldn’t have a problem spending a second/third round pick on him. He looked good at Wake with limited talent around him.

I get the point but to compare Teddy B to the QB's the brown had starting while Joe Thomas was there seems fairly harsh lol. Just to name a few of the top of my head : Deshone Kizer, Brady Quinn , Brandon Weeden, Colt Mccoy, Cody Kessler lol. Like mentioned above, definitely not a believer in Teddy as the future guy but we can't poo on his name that hard. Especially with a healthy CMC for the check down god lol.

Want to know something disappointing? Until this week, Teddy was tied with Colt McCoy and Brandon Weeden with a career high of 14 TDs and both of them only started one year (13 and 15 games). In Teddy’s 3rd year he finally got by McCoy and Weeden.

#4 is our ceiling, but it's definitely within reach. We aren't catching the top three. The Chargers have games against the Raiders and Broncos remaining. Decent chance they'll win one of those games. They also have the Chiefs and while I don't see them winning that game, they did only lose by a FG in OT their first matchup. The Cowboys have games against the 49ers, Eagles, and Giants remaining. Decent chance they'll win one of those games.

Honestly, if we lose out, I think #4 overall is likely. Two QBs will go in the top three with the Jets and Jags up there. The Bengals are taking Sewell.
