I doubt it and he may have walked after this season if it transpired like it has now.

Sounds bad, but if CMC helps a QB that much, then the QB sucks. Just the nature of the thing. CMC will make the Panthers better but he won't cauterize the open wound that is the QB position right now.

Theres this thing in the NFL called the "Franchise Tag".  It tips the scales in the franchises favor.

 

It was incredibly stupid to give him an extension after 3 seasons.  There is no debate about that

Yes there is.

Plenty of people (and not just Huddlers) disagree with that notion.

If this year turns out to be an aberration and he returns to form in seasons to come, nobody's gonna care that he was hurt this year.
