Whether you like/dislike or just lumping yourself in on the say something negative about Hurney every post thread..Greg Little checked all the boxes of what we needed then. It was a good pick!

5. Greg Little, Ole Miss

6. Yodny Cajuste, West Virginia

Little has all the talent in the world, and the size, girth, and length basically every team looks for in a 10-year stud at left tackle. You watch his film, and you see quarters and quarters of lockdown play on the left side. Then, two or three rough plays hit when he lunges and gets off balance, or is overwhelmed by power or a good counter move. With a little more strength and fine-tuning with his technique, Little can be a solid left tackle for a long time in the NFL.

LOL. Little was falling like a rock after the combine. No idea where you got this ranking, but it was probably out of date or written by someone who didn't know the combine existed. Lots of players have the "size" but don't have the skill to go with it and don't have the desire. He didn't have the strength and never added it. He didn't have good technique and never improved it. His combine was atrocious and I'm not talking about the numbers game, I'm talking about the drills where you could see the athletic ability side by side and see the movements that mock what OL do in game. There were a bunch of really solid OL taken in the 2nd before and after Little and all of them were guys we discussed in here as guys we wanted and all looked like they could handle the NFL. Little did not and much to the chagrin of all the Marty's supporters, we were right and Marty was wrong.

Don’t no where you going with those questions bud

No secret message or agenda with the questions...

Word seems to be that "insiders" are lined up in opposition of Marty because he's a really crummy GM --- I'm just curious as to when he will be exited and who will replace him?  Surely the "insiders" know?

2018

WR - DJ Moore - Hit

CB - D. Jackson - Barely Acceptable (mostly because he can't stay on the field)

S - Gaulden - Miss

TE. Thomas - Miss Was supposed to take over for Olsen and hasn't come close to being the answer at TE

DE  Haynes - Acceptable for his round Starting to show promise

LB Carter - Acceptable for his round Better than Whitehead but probably not the answer at MLB

LB Smith - Miss - Off the team

Norton - Miss - Off the team

2019

DE - Burns - Hit

OT - Little - Miss

QB - Grier - Miss

LB - Miller - probably Miss Showed promise but opted out -

RB - Scarlett - Miss Couldn't beat out Bonnefan an UDFA still on the team but no production

OT - Daley Hit better than 2nd round pick Little.  Can't stay healthy

WR - Godwin Miss

2020 (More Rhule than Hurney)

DT - Brown HIT

DE - YGM - HIT

S- Chinn - HIT

CB - Pride - HIT Has shown promise and with experience may turn into a good starter

S - Robinson - Miss couldn't make the final 53 and ended on Practice squad won't make the team next year

DT - Roy - HIT Solid rotational player

CB- Stanley Thomas-Oliver -Hit has actual seen playing time. Not bad for a 7th rounder.

2018 really the only steady player is Moore. Cater and Haynes are the only reason this draft was mediocre at best

2019 Abysmal Outside of Burns and Daley we missed badly and this was all on Hurney

2020 IMO this was a Rhule led draft and a major reason we hit more than we missed.

Incredibly biased take on hit or misses, you’re calling guys in there 2nd year misses and guys drafted in rounds 4th and further misses that are still on the roster like Thomas for example.

you’re also giving credit to Rhule for a draft, in which no sources confirmed he was the main person behind the 2020 draft.

this logic is insanity, you call troy pride and Roy hits because they see the field but Thomas a miss because he didn’t live up to first round draft pick Greg Olsen after being drafted in the 4th? There’s little objectivity

you can’t fault a gm for players opting out during a pandemic that’s ludicrous

I’ve never claimed nor heard anything from insiders just speculation from our beat writers back in March.

if he’s the gm cool if not cool

It starts with hiring someone like Ernie Accorsi who knows football and had success in the NFL level to help hire a new GM like what Jerry Richardson did after firing Hurney.

Accrosi was the one who picked Dave Gettleman. Whether you like Dave or not, he had success here in Carolina.

In reverse order:

1.  Concur on your Gettleman take.

2.  No way Tepper is going to hire Accorsi or anyone else to tell him what to do --- nor should he.

Tepper is the GM and that's not going to change.

Thomas is garbage.  He was supposed to be Olsen's replacement and he's done nothing. Not even close.  The only reason he's on the roster is because our TE situation is about as bad as our QB situation.

Pride and Roy are rookies and have been in the line-up.  Compared to Thomas they contributed more than he has in 3 years.

I'd give you rhe argument on Miller.  I actually thought he played well in his rookie season but being out he may be an odd man out on this roster.  I hope he returns and plays well.

And there is no source saying Rhule wasn't the main person behind this draft.  That said, Rhule said he would draft athletic fast players.  Most of the players we drafted fit Rhule's mold.  This is why I contend that he had more to do with the players we selected than Marty "I gotta reach for one player every draft" Hurney.

I’m not arguing Thomas is good, I’m arguing that he’s a miss, again you’re expectations were for him replacing olsen, that’s pretty high expectations for a 4th rd te man.

what you are suggesting is that Rhule, knew what players to draft for defense when he’s a offensive minded coach, in a position he’s never been in......that’s just not probable from a 1st time nfl head coach

I don't know if you remember the 2018 draft. "Thomas was the hidden Gem in the TE class"  The perfect fit to learn under Olsen and take over when he left.  He had two years behind Olsen.   Olsen was mentoring him since he wasn't seeing the field.  Thomas is a bust as far as not fill the expectation he was drafted for.  Granted he was a 4th round but some talking heads had him as one of the best TE in that class.

Rhule recruited players at both Temple and Baylor that were fast an athletic.  It's a formula that works for him.   I don't why you would believe that Hurney hit a grand slam on a draft for the first time in his career and the players fit Rhule's mold.
