I'm just ready for Tepper to make a splash and do something innovative and if not innovative, go throw a ridiculous amount of money at someone that is a genius talent evaluator.

Like Kevin Colbert?

There was a lot of speculation around him last year but it never panned out.

I'd like to see Dan Morgan as head of pro personnel or even as GM if we are going to go to a two GM model where one guy/gal does the cap and the other player personnel.

When he answered interview questions about what it would take to get him to jump to the NFL, Rhule cited a setup like what Bill Belichick has. Belichick doesn't have the title or the daily duties of a GM, but the Patriots approach is very clearly "coach centric". Person's recent article jibed with that.

I won't be surprised if we have a similar setup in the near future, maybe even next year.

Rhule sure as hell doesn't have enough experience or success at the pro level to justify that, but he'll likely get it anyway if Tepper has enough faith in him.

(the length of Rhule's contract and the size of his paychecks would lend to the idea that he does)

I guess you just gotta hope that he's really that damn good.

His contract, and the fact that he had other job options, probably means that is the case, but I'm sure Rhule still has final say.

Really all owners have final say, when you are the one writing the checks you have that right.  Some owners just flex that ability more than others.

The problem with coaches, who also GM, is that you lose some of your checks and balances.  Coaches tend to think short term, GMs need to think long term.  Belichick actually did a really good job of doing both.  As a coach its easy to get into a win now mentality.  Look at some of the moves the Texans did under O'Brian.

I still think the Teddy Bridgewater signing was a win now move that was probably pushed by the coaches.  Pure speculation on my part, but just seems that way on paper.

So far, the only Jerry Jones-ish thing I can think of that Tepper has done is suggest to Ron Rivera that he try going 3-4 on defense.

(that was a disaster).

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.
    • One of those guys who throws a pass that makes you yell "OMG" then immediately follows it with one that makes you go "WTF" 😳 Essentially the Brett Favre prototype...
    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
