Is QB the right pick?

If you go by 3rd QB drafted being the 3rd best QB, here's what history shows:

2020 - Justin Herbert was the 3rd best QB
2019 - Dwayne Haskins was the 3rd best (weak QB class)
2018 - Josh Allen was the 3rd best
2017 - Deshaun Watson was the 3rd best

So yeah... if there's a strong QB class and you believe in the 3rd best, you take him.

If we can't get a QB worthy of the slot, then I'm fine with a different position.

Otherwise, my plan would be to tag Moton, draft Sewell, and build our offensive line like crazy.  This stupid ass Teddy contract is going to be an issue, but it's too late now to worry about that, we gotta figure out how to get our of a Marty Hole again.

No need to reach if a guy we believe it isn’t there. Sewell will be a nice consolation prize, the Bangels will probably snag him, but I believe a QB we like will be there. 
 

I just pray we don’t fall for the Saints trap and fug ourselves out of a QB.

What if Lawrence doesn't come out?  Seems he doesn't want to be a Jet and who could blame him.  Do we then wait to to the next draft to go for our QB.  What is the Jr Class of next year looking like.  Makes it interesting doesn't it.  Do we lose the following year with the chance to get our hands on Lawrence or do we take the 2nd best QB in this years draft.

I don't like him as much as the other guys. Arm isn't as strong, has a long throwing motion, he does a lot of dinking and dunking, the throws aren't the most accurate, doesn't really throw with anticipation, and his receivers seem to bail him out quite a bit on throws deeper down the field. 

This is based on the limited stuff I have watched of him though. Would need to do a deeper dive, but as of right now, no I would put the other 4 above him.

Unless Sewell falls you have to take a QB. You just have to.

There are two things we know for certain.

1.  An NFL team isn't going to win without a good quarterback.

2.  Teddy is not a good quarterback.

 

And we ain't gettin nowhere near Lawrence.  It all comes down to 3 or 4 QBs that may be there when we pick, and if our staff thinks one will be a good NFL QB, we'll draft him.  If not, we'll look again next year.

If we pick a QB and he flops, it was worth it to take a chance to get a franchise QB.  That process will continue until we do.  The question is how long will it take?  Hopefully, in April, we choose the right guy.

We aren't locked in at picking in the top 10 and if we were we don't have to select an offensive lineman there.
