If Bridgewater starts another game this season, the coaching staff has given up on the season.

Teddy Bridgewater has lost his last 7 starts. His last 2.5 games in particular have been cringeworthy. He is regressing and costing the team games. Time and time again, Bridgewater fails to make the plays needed to win with the game on the line. He is overly risk-averse, physically limited, and hasn’t shown the mental fortitude to improve his game. He deflects blame to the coaching staff at times (see “not receiving the play call in time” in the 4th quarter against Minnesota), and we have no reason to believe Teddy Bridgewater will improve at all going forward.

So what next? Does the coaching staff bench a safe, known loser in Teddy Bridgewater and tank the rest of the season to get a better draft pick? Or do they put in PJ Walker, whose arm strength and athleticism could spark the team and maybe win a couple of games? Or does the team see what they have in Will Grier?

No matter what they do, the message is clear. The answer isn’t Bridgewater. And if they stick with him for the rest of the season, the coaching staff is sending a clear message that the Panthers have given up on winning any more games this season.

you know I read a lot on here about how awful our coaches are, and how awful our coordinators are. If they win a game their idiots for losing draft postion, if they lose a game their an awful coaching staff. The one thing that I have begun to think about is it possible that they would be coaching losses with a winning attitude? Can you intentionally lose without looking like you are trying to lose? Some of the play calls ive seen has me thinking this way.
