After today's results it looks less likely that the Saints will rest their starters when they play the Panthers.

If they lose to KC and GB doesn’t lose to Tennessee, GB would effectively have a 2 game lead (both teams have an easy game too) going into the last week.

We now need GB to lose one more assuming that NO loses to KC. If that happens then NO would still have a chance for the top seed in week 17. At the Bears isn’t a gimme for GB. If GB has a 1 game lead though, their game against Chicago doesn’t matter.

It would help us more if the Rams beat Seattle because maybe that would put more pressure on NO to win to make sure that they don’t have two road games. Seattle lost to NO so a tiebreaker favors NO. Those two have 4 losses which is what the Saints would have if they lose to KC.

I think we are in good shape because the NO having a two game lead on GB is basically off the table. Now the top seed being gone for NO before week 17 is in play but Seattle/LA are now right behind and their toughest games are against each other so one or the other should get to 12-4.

Most coaches these days are only as good as their qb.  When Ron had one who was playing well, he did pretty well as a coach.  Maybe not as well as we think he should, but still did ok.  To be honest, given what Washington has went thru this year irt its qb situation, I think Ron would deserve some Coach of the year consideration if they win the NFC East.  And before anyone says,  but its the NFC East, the NFC East is significantly better now than it was in Sep/Oct.

Or it could be more likely.  They have to play the Chiefs next week.  Anything can happen, but I don't see Hill and Company keeping up with the Chiefs offense.   And Brees is probably going to be out again.  The Chiefs will be a tall order even if Brees is back and fully healthy.

By the time they play us, they could be locked into the second or even third seed.

I was wondering something though.  If the NFL is still not allowing teams to have many fans, does homefield advantage even matter.  

 

I mean playing in Green Bay in feb will still be tough, but if the Saints are playing in LA, or Rams are playing in NO, I am not sure it matters this year.

Oh I'd knock our current staff. I'd rather not be know as the Panthers College.
