It would have been nice to see the one from behind, it had it well, but the whistle blew so there was no chance to overturn it anyway. I think that's why they didn't even bother to show it. Didn't matter anyway.

Newton missed the last two games of 2016 due to shoulder issues and started off 2017 looking bad. We weren't even sure if he'd play week 1 of 2017. His shoulder issues were there 2 years before Watt's hit.

Perhaps, but you can't argue that that didn't make it irrevocable

Absolutely can. I know people like to point to that but years of throwing off his back foot, i.e. throwing lasers only with his arm, probably did way more harm than one hit. Baseball pitchers have shoulder issues and never take hits on their arm.

It was a big hit but unless it dislocated or broke something, which we never heard about, the years of wear on the arm were the cause. He missed games due to shoulder issues and had shoulder surgery (Ira, maybe 2?) in the 2 years prior.

I know people in here like to point to that play but not one person on the medical staff or Cam or the coaches have ever mentioned that play as the end. I’m sure it wasn’t good but years of hits and slinging lasers caused it.
