Let’s all take a deep breath and think about next season.

Things look bleak right now. The Panthers are getting worse as the season goes along and there is very little hope of winning another game this season.

And that’s not by accident. The team is just not any good aside from a handful of promising players. And the players and coaches both know there isn’t any reason to win any more games aside from personal accolades and morale boosts.

So as a fan, I would like to take this time to take a deep breath and start thinking about next season.

Next season, we will have a talented rookie QB to cheer for.

Next season, Christian McCaffrey will be back.

Next season, the defense will be better with more experience and more draft picks.

Next season, this team will win some close games.

This is the only way to stay positive right now.

I hope, HOPE the FO doesn't actually think that Bathwater is a better QB then he is and just need the pieces around him. Bathwater starting next year will make me feel a lot better with a rookie behind him. That is a real worry that we will get a top 5 pick and we will get a TE or LB and role with TB. I won't watch the Panthers next year if that happens.

They have to draft a QB. This was a great season to ride a guy like Bridgewater because you couldn’t get fans in the stands. If they could have a full stadium of fans this season, you’d see an empty stadium like we did late last season.

If the Panthers don’t bring in a promising young QB next season, I have to think a large chunk of this fanbase is going to quietly abandon the team and might not be back for many years. The Panthers have one of the most fair weather, fickle fanbase in the NFL. This isn’t the type of fanbase that can withstand decades of losing like the Browns. Fans will drop to levels like the Jaguars have.

All they need to do is make a move for something to be hopeful about to sell some tickets and I don’t think Tepper is dumb enough to ignore that.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

I get it.

I mean, I know we're bad but it still hurts to watch us play ugly.

Eh, it was actually a good game for us. Some dumb things, some great things and we protected our draft position in the end.

I am not upset. We've lost 8 of these 10 close games this season. Pretty well used to it now.
